  1. Aye, would like to see Hoots given the nod, not that i’m desparate to see the Hammers back up or anything 😀 They’re gonna be a lot harder to get back up than we were I reckon, going to lose a fair few more important players i’d imagine.

  2. We should move quickly and put in a triple bid for Tomkins , Ba and hitzlsperger 5 million each

  3. W ham have put all those under 24 for sale. I expect them to be down for 2 years at least. Hoots was good star but I don’t agree with you. He took us as far as he could but the manner he went was shocking. I’d love drogba to come, not sure he will though. Depends on how much money chelski spend and on who. Would we rather 10 million on drogba or gameiro?

  4. I was gutted when Hoots got the sack and the way they did it but Pards has picked up where he left off.
My only criticism is the way he dealt with the Carroll sale.
At least he can have been in charge when destroying the Mackems 5-1 ! Get in Pards!

      (Quote)

  5. Pards will go down in history for that 5-1 victory no matter what the future holds!!!

  6. @stardust

What has Hoots achieved that Pards hasn’t?
You are taking the blame out on Pardew instead of Ashley.

Fishing rod back in. Hook line and peercat. 😆

  8. I wonder how this would go down on .org? It wouldn’t fit the picture they paint of Pardew and MandyMac would no doubt choke on his Chomp if he ever read it 😆 😆

    Hi guys.

What are your thoughts on Alan Pardew ? I thought he did a great job for us and was harshly treated. I am chuffed with the job our current boss is doing but it is with virtually the whole team Pardew assembled for us. Like I said I like Adkins but Pardew got it started. He would get a standing ovation from every saints fan.

Thoughts ? you like him ?
    _________________________________________________

But I thought everyone hated him at his former clubs? 😆 😆 😆

  9. Toonsy…A toon fan I know down south works with a Saints fan and when Pardew was appointed he’d told him that under Pards they’d been playing their best footy for years.

  10. @big Dave

Cracking performance. As I’ve said all along, I was totally wrong, yes toonsy, I was wrong about how we would perform at the start of the season. I’ve been totally and pleasantly surprised by our results and no more than our goals tally which I thought would be poor.

My only hope is Ashley convinces our better players to stay and build on our great team spirit.
We played well today and Jose quite rightly got MOM . Is it any good to us though selling Carroll who helped us achieve good results and next Jose. ?

I would back right off Ashley if he could convince our best players to stay and invest the Carroll money on quality similar to Tiote .

  11. Rich – Funnily enough, I know a few West Ham fans who aid much the same thing. They said he was **** on from above by that Icelandic gadgie.

      (Quote)

  12. Big Dave he would bring quality and depth to the squad , depth is something sadly lacking . The 3 i named are players that will add numbers to every line of the team Tomkins a promising young defender with premiership games in is locker and Ba proved he can get goals at this level . With Smith finished at this level imo and injury worries hanging over Gosling , hitzlsperger would be a great signing .

      (Quote)

  13. Toonsy I dont care what anyone says I think Pards has us playing better Footie and he does seem to be good with the younguns from what I can see and have read he seems to think highly of the Younguns and gives them a lot of encouragment, which can only be good for us.
And before anyone says about him saying what he thought about Ranger at the start we had Hoots try the softly softly approach for yonks and he was still the same, but from Pards came he does seem to be getting his heed sorted now. 😉

      (Quote)

  14. my dads a west ham fan, (getting a lot of stick at the minute 😎 😎 ) said he’d be a good appointment and was playing great football at west ham until the board went behind his back and undermined him

      (Quote)

  15. @it’s an absolute no go anyway regarding Drog.
    Too big wages for one.

But he would be terrible in an average team. He silks and goes missing when things aren’t going his way.

He would be a disaster for us.

Forget about it tho. It’s a non starter.

      (Quote)

  16. pretty big transfer and big wages for him…dunno whether I’d want him or not to be honest….now if we were talking Berbatov… 😀 😀

      (Quote)

  17. “No. I really think he’s dodgy. Alot of our goals come from his bad mistakes. He’s a great lad but would prefer a new 10 mil CB to play with Taylor and I would really like to see raylor at RB.”

A comment from someone on Ed’s. The person in question is Colo, btw 😆

  18. Relative of mine is a personal freind of Pards and ended up being his assistant manager at West Ham, says he is a players man, great with them at the training ground and always there for them. Also said not to believe all we read in the papers.

As much as I thought Hoots was a good manager for us and the way he was sacked was shocking, I can’t complain at all with what Pardew has done for us, more than I had hoped. Lets just hope he can pull off a top 10 by this time next week, none of us could complain about that

      (Quote)

  19. @newkie

Berby is the same mould as Drog.

Temperamental and need great players around them otherwise they would go missing and sulk.

Great talents but not what we need.

      (Quote)

  20. Axel I dont doubt he would bring quality and depth to the squad, but I just dont think he would be better than what we have and doubt he would be wanting to be a bit part player.
Bobby there is nowt wrong with being wrong 😉 and you can admit it 😉 , maybe you should give worky some pointers on how to admit that sometimes he can get things wrong but then again im sure you have better things to do with your time 😆

      (Quote)

  21. I think we’re starting to see Pardews philosophy coming through now. We’re a lot more positive, pass the move with a high tempo. Good to see in my opinion.

Personally I think if Pardew is given sufficient funds to strengthen in the summer i believe we may have an exciting season next season.

All depends on the players we bring in i guess. Desperate for a bit more flair and speed.

      (Quote)

  22. Devon @ 33 – Good god 😯 🙄

On Pardew, anyone reckon he is the reason for Taylor seeming to be back to his best? I think the bigging up Pardew gave him has given him the confidence back.

      (Quote)

  23. @38. Exactly that mate, did the same with Best. He has full confidence with players, spoke out about young fergie to. He’s going about his job well, some people moan about talking to much. but that’s bollocks imo

      (Quote)

  24. Bobby-I’m not so sure mate, I thought Berby did well at a pretty average spurs side when they had him. Wouldn’t say he’s that tempermental either, I mean most strikers are but he’s not that bad, really don’t think Fergie has made the best out of him. Thing is he can be quite lazy movement wise, which is why it would be nice to have him alongside Arfa. Not that it would happen anyway, still, another boyhood newcastle fan to return to the roost? 😀

      (Quote)

  25. @stu 79

Uh oh. You’ve changed your tune?

My views have not changed. It’s got nothing to do with Pardew if Ashley can’t keep the players cos he can’t convince them to stay.

You can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

      (Quote)

  26. “Stardy do you think we would have been better off now if he had of stayed”

Short term Dave no I don’t think so, I would have expected much the same. But the rebuilding Hoots did with one arm tied behind his back and no budget was flabbergasting – I also liked the way he managed the press – it was genius yet polite. He gave us our respect and club back – I will be forever grateful to him.

I want Pards to be successful, even though I don’t care for all of the things he says. I do however trust him to try and build an entertaining side and I look forward to seeing what the future brings.

  27. Toonsy I think you have a point @ 38 I know from personal experience I always gave more when someone had faith and confidence in me, it made you want to prove that they were right to show the faith 😉

  28. @newkie

Don’t know why we are talking about Berby. He’s out of our league. 😕

      (Quote)

  29. Toonsy – IF Saylor has improved its because imo he was dropped – realised he has to up his game and has watched Colo (who is a genius imo)

But I expect Taylor to revert to type 🙁

      (Quote)

  30. Pardews won me over – I’ll hold my hands up and say I was wrong about him, I was kicking off when we appointed him, said he would be a failure etc.

Think he’s dealt with our players in the right manner main one being Best – I dont think under Hughton he would have got the goals he has under Pardew. Such a shame he went and got injured 🙁

Bring on the summer and lets see who comes in and who leaves, this summer will be Pardew and Ashleys biggest test.

      (Quote)

  31. Stardust – He may or may not revert to type, but in the last two games he has been nowt short of brilliant. He’s earned us four points with his goals 😯

      (Quote)

  32. Stardy I dont think we were going anywhere with Hoots as MA only ever seen him as a stop gap, but because Pards is MA’s man I expect him to back Pards in the windows.
As for the way Hoots was with the Press I hated it as we the fans are entitiled to be spoken too and if the Manager doesn’t do that will then how do we know owt, I know it comes across as Pards talks too much but I think all he is doing is answering questions that are being put to him by the press, which in turn keeps us in the loop.
Rather than like Hoots treating us like mushrooms in the dark, I would also say that the press wont be as likily to write as much sh1te about us now because the manager is talking to them 😕

      (Quote)

  33. Aye Bobby I know, potential target for when we’re in the money and champs league in three years or so though right? 😀

      (Quote)

  34. Jobey – Raylor was not good. He didn’t do much wrong although I’m still waiting to see evidence of these famous set-pieces of his.

One of them deflected of someones **** into the goal. One slammed straight into the wall. One croner didn’t even make it six yard out of the quadrant because it went out of play…. The lad is utter toss.

      (Quote)

  35. Toonsy – to be fair it’ll take me a long time to be convinced by Saylor – he does have a knack in the box for goal though (his own or the opposition 🙂 )

Even today though – he threw himself on the ground needlessly a billion times (I was counting 😆 )

I hope he goes on to become great – I just can’t see it though – but with Tiote in front it may help him so fingers crossed

Colos still a god though – better than Woodgate at his best for me now as he is consistent, reliable and a joy to watch

      (Quote)

  36. Toonsy- Whaaaay. Bite 😆 😆

He was okay, corners weren’t much worse than bartons usually are, put himself about, assist and then assisted an assist 😉

      (Quote)

  37. How is Ben Arfa at taking free-kicks cos Barton is no better than Raylor?

      (Quote)

  38. TC – ****, but I expect someone will dog out the Youtube clip of his one free-kick goal now and say he is great at them….

      (Quote)

  39. I think Taylor is benefiting from Pards and from Colo, when was the last time Taylor had a solid partner to learn from and rely on, most of the time he was the one that was thought of as being the most experienced and reliable of our CB’s and he was only a youngun 😉

      (Quote)

  40. Toon Chicken-if you look on Youtube theres a goal Arfa scores from about 40 yards out, absolute screamer whilst he was at Marseilles i think. However I remember he got the nod at Everton or Blackpool, can’t remember which, and he hooned it right into the crowd. Worth a punt though when Joey aint firing, he’s probably got a better eye for goal than Joey but less effective at a floated cross.

Watching the replay Staylor’s header technique was brilliant, got a sh1tload of power from a slow ball. Carroll could learn a thing or two from that lad 😆

      (Quote)

  41. Well toonsy im thankful to your fav toon player (R.Taylor) for an excellent draw today, what a coincidence he played, (and scored) in the other win there this season.

      (Quote)

  42. Bobby – haven’t changed my tune, still think Ashley will be judged in the summer ‘again’. Personally I believe he’ll yet again let us down.

Pardew cannot be faulted for the way he’s trying to get the players to play positively though, Ashley has notjing to do with that and can take no credit for it – yet!

      (Quote)

  43. bobby@32…No, mainly for the reasons you’ve said…not unless he’d like to come for 1/3 or less of his current salary then fair enough 😉

“Well toonsy im thankful to your fav toon player (R.Taylor) for an excellent draw today, what a coincidence he played, (and scored) in the other win there this season.”

Aye, because it was all down to him and he was like the best player on the park. Even better than Colo, Jose, and the people who actually scored the goals 🙄

He is toss man. Utter toss.

      (Quote)

  45. Potty your logic is as obtuse as your noodled brain.

You blame Ashley for everything yet you lay all the credit to Pards for positive play when Pards is Ashleys appointment.

    God you’re a goon

      (Quote)

  46. He certainly took better free-kicks than Joey ‘up-and-over’ Barton. I thought he contributed to the draw.. Although no doubt you will argue that he didn’t. (Even though he played the whole game and set up both the goals). 🙄

      (Quote)

  47. Toonsy he mightn’t be the most gifted of players but I will always give him credit for trying and will always give you 100% which is all I ask 😉

      (Quote)

  48. Jobey – I’m not a changed man, I give credit when I think it’s deserved, I criticise when I think it’s deserved.

It just doesn’t fit some peoples agenda to comment and respond when i’m positive. Some tend to ignore the positive things I say and comment only on what they percieve to be negative. Although I prefer realistic… 😉

  49. Stardust – You’d be better to read my comments in full before trying to be clever and have a pop, otherwise it makes you look silly, although we are use to that!

    Have another read then relax.
