Time for Ba to put up or shut up!

Listen up Demba
Listen up Demba
Well you just knew it was going to happen didn’t you?

Once again this whole Demba Ba debacle is being dragged through the press and once again the whole situation is causing uncertainty at a time where we really don’t need it.

According to the press Ba’s advisers have been chatting to QPR and are fully abreast of all the options open to the striker. Whilst it’s only the press suggesting this though I don’t feel that,on this occasion anyway, they are far wrong in their assertions and there is definitely something going on behind the scened with regard to Ba’s future.

My own personal feeling is that it’s a matter of when and not if Ba walks away from St James’ Park, but the antics over the last few weeks have actually started to make me wonder if that would be such a bad thing after all. He’s been our top goalscorer, both last season and throughout this season, but has him being played in a position which is detrimental to the team been the defining factor in all of this?

Alan Pardew has carried the can for altering the formation, with some suggesting this is to accommodate Ba who was reportedly unhappy with being played out on the wing. Personally I think there is some truth behind that and even though you can blame Ba’s entourage for going to the press, you can only blame the player himself if you listen to his comments in the wake of the Everton match earlier on in the season.

Of course Pardew has been rewarded with goals from one of his strikers, but it’s also knocked the stuffing out of another and with Ba looking increasingly likely to move on is this such a wise move?

It’s my opinion that Ba has been more than a little bit selfish. Yes he has been scoring goals this season and heaven knows where we would have been without them, but you could just as easily say that Cisse might not have lost so much form had we persevered with the way we were playing at the back end of last season.

The problem I have with Ba right now is that he seems to be playing for himself at the moment with little thought to the team. He’s shooting from anywhere right now, seldom tries to set up a chance for another player and seems more interested in putting himself in the shop window ahead of anything else.

Alan Pardew has backed Ba all the way. He’s accommodated him, defended him in public and praised him when due, so how does Ba repay him?

By letting this circus roll on and on…

  1. Pity www haven’t the resources to rotate Ba & Cisse in the strikes role. Trouble is with so few “purples” we have to play them all, apparently.

  2. nice article, well said.

I love Demba and would love him to stay but its really winding me up now & I couldnt handle another window with the same will-he wont-he ****.

If he’s not going to sign and we had a replacement, I’d be happy for the Toon to actively look for buyers and transfer list him just to let him know we wont be messed around. We seem to be the last resort. If nobody comes in for him he’ll stay until the next window or we break the bank with a new contract.

  3. I’m fine with Ba leaving so long as he is replaced by a player of equal or better quality. The club, or rather Llambias and Ashley need to pay the price for their foolishness. This clause shouldn’t have been allowed in the original contract for one window, let alone every fckin window. Utter madness, if he stays it will be chaos in the build up/during every transfer window and Ba will become more and more estranged.

If Llambias wants to be a smug c*nt and take the plaudits when he mugs off some french club for a player, it’s time for him to eat humble pie, admit he let the club get shafted by agents and go out and replace Ba with someone of quality and someone who can better compliment our side, but also someone who can lead the line in Cisse’s absence. You just know as soon as Ba is gone Cisse will get crocked. We have 3 1/2 mil to replace Ba when he goes, so that means serious outlay is needed and it shouldn’t come from selling one of our players, as it was the club who fcked this up…

  4. Couldnt agree more with this thread and its definitely a case of the tail wagging the dog with Ba, Pardew and the club couldnt have done more for him and after his display yesterday, Pardew had the chance to howk him off and leave Cisse on as the main striker as thats how its going to be shortly anyway.
The poor form has been blamed on the Europa league campaign but its now looking more likely that there is trouble in the camp and I am backing Pardew to sort it out.

  5. It’s obvious he wants to leave but will anybody take him on? It will cost a fortune to take him for 4 years and no club could get insurance on him.

For me I actually believe he’s stunting some players in the team and I don’t like that way he’s more or less demanded he plays through the middle.

I say ask him straight – if he wants to go, let him.

      (Quote)

  6. Stuart think you may have a point there with money been an issue for clubs with him. He wants 90k a week. That’s 4,680,000 a year , so a 4 year deal would be 18,720,000. That’s after paying 7mil for him and any agent fees ( which u know be a few quid ). So your talking the guts of £30 million over 4 years. Is he worth that?

      (Quote)

  7. Agree with the thread,

For me, despite his goals, the only game Ba has played well in this season was the Wigan game. In every other game he has been selfish.

So often he has the ball with players overlapping him making good runs looking for the through ball. Yet he’ll hold possession and if he passes, it is always to the player closest to him.

His vision is blind to anything other than the net. Which isn’t a good thing.

He is playing for himself and this effects the form and confidence of players around him.

I know he has it in him to be a goal scorer and a team player. But he just doesn’t seem bothered.

Personally I think he was very lippy when Cisse was banging the goals in last season. He hated the fact that the limelight wasn’t on him. He wants to score to put himself in the shop window.

I would go as far as to say he is the major reason (along with Pardew) for causing Cisse’s lack of confidence at the moment.

Loved Ba when he first arrived, but I think his heart isn’t with the team its with himself and so I want him to go. Problem is, if he goes will the board bring in a replacement? I’m not so sure.

QPR have paid more for worse players, so don’t see why they wouldn’t do it for Ba. And no doubt he will have a release clause to leave on a free if they go down.

      (Quote)

  9. Johno

When you put it like that, it does make it look expensive, especially with his injury issues, but really at 7mil I think he’s a bargain. Especially considering our rivals are in for him (i.e Liverpool, who we’re fighting for top 10 ideally..QPR who we’re fighting relegation with) he would not only strengthen both of them, he would weaken us, given we’d only have 3 mil to replace him and our owners at tight bastards as it is.

  10. For me it’s bye bye Ba!

Can’t wait for Cisse to get back to his normal role in the centre of a front 3 with Cabaye and Anita pulling the strings behind.

I have a feeling we will have a strong 2nd half to the season finishing in the top 10.

      (Quote)

  11. Demba Ba is a top goalscorer and wants to be paid for it.
Ba isn’t alone in the circus situation which greets every transfer window. The club also have a part to play in this all, that shouldn’t be forgotten.

There was no circus surrounding Collo’s wage hike to supposedly 90k a week. The club made him an offer which he quite liked, and the deal was sorted.

Demba Ba is being handled differently. The circus is unavoidable, and the club should take at least half of the blame.

Ba stunting Cisse’s development ? Howay man. Demba played a great one-two with him yesterday, and he was too slow and indecisive to get on the end of it.

Cisse will come good, but sacrificing Ba for Cisse is just mental.

Only Liverpool are mental enough to pay the zillions of pounds to buy him. The toon are playing hard ball with Demba, hence the circus. Maybe Demba thinks he deserves a pay rise after his efforts over the last couple of years ? Cannot say I disagree with that like.

Come February there is a strong chance that Demba Ba will still be at the toon.

      (Quote)

  12. MM ,If you are on about Cisse’s first missed shot ,then the return from Ba was too heavy and that’s why he cocked it up ,nowt to do with being indecisive even the commentators said it was too heavy for Cisse to do much with , take another look and you will see. He did however sky another shot , but this is what happens when where you play is not natural to your style ,you end up snatching shots and losing your confidence.

Toonsy ,good read and I wholheartedly agree mate.

JJ@8 and Evil@12 spot on lads.

  13. “Come February there is a strong chance that Demba Ba will still be at the toon.”
Now that would have a few fans getting their knickers twisted.
Ba has suddenly become public enemy No 1 to some, despite the fact he is our top scorer for the last 2 seasons.
I dont believe he should be scorned and made the scapegoat for Cisse’s poor show this season.
I also dont think the club should be handling his contract negotiations in public.
Good work by lambastad to turn the fans against Ba.

      (Quote)

  14. Toonsy fuking spot on Lad, except I am not 100% sure that Ba will go but it wont be because he wants to stay, just that no other will pay the money for him.
I am totally fuked off with him and his Lip and I notice that a lot more people are starting to see him for what he is one Selfish *****.
MM if you are talking about the only pass that I seen Ba make to Cisse yesterday and are blaming Cisse for not being fast enough ? Bolt would have been fast enough because Ba had the touch of an Elephant with that pass.

I have also noticed ones saying that Cisse had a go in the middle at the start of the season ❓ I must have missed it because the only time I have seen him anywhere near the middle has been in a **** 4 4 2, I haven’t once seen him being played through the middle as he was last season when he was knocking them in for fun, but we all know that to do that Ba would need to play out on the left and we know he wont do that because he is calling the shots because the club are bowing to his demands so as not to lose him for **** money.
But IMO it is a high price to pay because they have showed the other players that they will show favoritism to one player while Cisse is asked to play out on the right and just gets on with it. But if a club comes in for Ba he will be off the 1st chance he gets and Pards is going to have to try to pick up Cisse which I think will take a while because the Lad has had his confidence knocked out of him because Pards has shown that he has picked Ba over him even before the season started and regardless of the form Cisse ended last season on.

      (Quote)

  15. for me Ba scores, because he receives the ball to score and tries his chance in every position.
But very difficult for players to link with him. For me technically he is poor, so very difficult to make some good one two with him. Because give him a ball, he will try to turn and makes an impossible shot.
So ok some says every striker is selfish and i agree with that, but i can see something more than simple selfishness with him.
I m sure we can be even better with another striker less selfish.
Just look to his reaction when another players scores, he is never happy. he just wanna score himself.
He must be more respectful with this club, because he was anyone last year at the start of the season, and this clubs makes him famous. But now he starts to try to be the star of this club but for me he doesnt have enough talent. Alone he can do nothing, he is not Benny.
So for me its better we sell at him.

      (Quote)

  16. BB @ 18 > I also dont think the club should be handling his contract negotiations in public.
Good work by lambastad to turn the fans against Ba.

So I take it Ba’s agents had fuk all to do with it either ?
By the way I don’t buy any of the **** Lambastad tries to sell, I am against Ba because I seen how last season when he was brought of his Lip was trailing the ground and wouldn’t even look at the player that was replacing him, also the fact that he went to see Pards because he wasn’t happy about playing where Pards asked him to play, and next thing we get Pards making a public assurance to Ba that he will play through the middle.
So no not all of us have turned on Ba because of Lambastad

“There was no circus surrounding Collo’s wage hike to supposedly 90k a week”.

I dont recall any stories about Colo looking for a price hike. In fact the only articles I read was that he look a slight reduction in wages.

  18. Ba also through a sulk earlier in the year when the Senegalese manager dropped him in favour of Cisse.

I don’t think he liked Cisse stealing his limelight and has become selfish as a result.

      (Quote)

  19. I can’t remember Ba coming out saying he wants to leave, so until he does that then he is still our player. All this reading between the lines is just hearsay. Yes he was a bit selfish yesterday, but when you’re playing in a team bereft of ideas, creativity, confidence and shooting ability then he has every right to be greedy. Yes his two rugby kick free kicks annoyed me too yesterday, but at least Ba has a few goals to his name. Papiss Cisse has been woeful since Pards stopped him going to the olympics. He had a glorious chance against Man City to make it 2-2 and blazed it WELL over the bar. Like his penalty a few games ago, like almost every shot he’s hitting this year. Why doesn’t someone coach him to stop leaning back, and the offside rule while we’re at it? It’s getting tedious watching play develop and then not being able to go any further because he’s been offside throughout the whole move.

Maybe if Ba wants to leave it’s the lack of ambition and investment in our club after such a good season last year.
Don’t forget, if we’re believing everything we read the papers, you have to also believe the release clause is 7.5m to champions league clubs but double to others. That’s what was reported. Factor in the wages, 7/8 different agent fees, signing on fee, insurance for alleged dodgy knee etc then you have a very expensive deal that is unlikely to happen. Unless Arsenal or Chelsea come in for him I can’t see him leaving.

The bottom line is Pardew can’t manage to convince Ba to play on the wing, even though he scored 7 from 12 in that position for West Ham for AVRAM GRANT. Weird.

  20. Munich – Any front three that doesn’t contain that selfish ****

With the player we have without bringing any one in, then it’d be Benny – Cisse – Marv/Obertan…if we bring Remy in then him.

All would do a much better team job than Ba is doing at the moment, and it would be back to playing it on the carpet getting balls in and around the box.

  21. Good article toonsy. This is a hard one for me. I’ve actually always liked Ba. I thought he came into the club with a good attitude but the arrival of Cisse seems to have completely changed things. They clearly can’t work together as a forward pair and I have to say lately I’m seeing the same thing others are. Ba is taking almost every opportunity to shoot and it’s not working well for the team. How to solve it I’m not sure unless Ba does leave. I won’t complain about the 3 points we picked up yesterday but we will have to play much better than that for the next few games. I’m not looking forward to the ManU game at all in our current form.

      (Quote)

  22. Sorry that was meant to say they would do a better job for the TEAM, obviously I don’t think they’d be as good at scoring goals 🙄

  23. So Evilfranky has blamed the long ball on Ba, jesus I’ve heard it all now.

That would be pardew’s fault and his clueless tactics, or williamson for always hoofing it.

We have a ball playing midfielder who can do it all in Anita and we barely use him in possession properly.

But aye get rid of Ba and Willo will stop humping it up the pitch. FFS.

  24. I think for the Cub the best that can happen is on the 1st of January Remy Loic is photographed in a black and white shirt signing a contract ,then on the second of January Ba is sold . Yes he is our top goal scorer but in Cisse we have his replacement already at the club , this saga has been going on far too long and its breaking the dressing room spirit . Just look at Cisse’s reaction to being subbed yesterday . For me i would not be bothered if Ba has played his last game for us , Pardews man management is now being tested to the limit ,if he is clever he will pick Cisse to start at Old Trafford and not bother taking Ba , thus letting Cisse know he is now the man for the job .

It would be madness to walk into our club right now and I place the blame on Ashley. He has us angry at the players but he has squandered the opportunity he had at the end of last season. He chose to pat himself on the back and didn’t continue to build the team. He is a coward and a loser for me.

  29. The best info I read was that Colo accepted 75K a week. I don’t believe the 90K stuff and never saw it quoted from anyone sensible. He deserves his 75K in my mind. I’ve seen what we look like when he’s out of the lineup. As the top wage on the team it’s a bargain. Ashley will never build a championship team because he doesn’t have the stones for it. We will always be in the position of losing top players and struggling to replace them and Llambias makes it even harder to do so. With Pardew struggling to keep control of the team what support or useful advice does he get from within the club? Probably nothing.

      (Quote)

  30. Axel @30 , Cisse always plays with a smile on his face but he was very frustrated yesterday and it’s sad to see his spirit broken like that. I blame Pards for playing him out of position ,he didn’t deserve to be shunted out to the right after his displays for us last season. Got to be honest I expected us to play as we ended last season with Ba out on the left since things were working o.k and am shocked at how he chose to change things in favor of Ba being the main man. To be fair I liked Ba when he first came in but his attitude rapidly changed after Cisse arrived imo.

      (Quote)

  31. Axel
I think it depends what direction the club is going. It has clearly not been working this season the way it is. But Pardew has shown that he is all about the belt and braces, two big centre forwards and wingers approach. I still think Ba is a better player for the way Pardew sets us up. He is simply a striker with an all round game (apart from set pieces yesterday) and Cisse isn’t. Cisse is a poacher who has to be played centrally, in a certain system to be effective. Ba can play across the front and in different systems. He is just a good striker and probably the best striker we have had since Shearer. It’s going to be difficult to replace him for sure. I think if we got Remy it could work with a good tactical manager, but Pardew has been all over the place with his player selection and tactics. What Remy would be is what Ba doesn’t seem to want. ie. he would play as a second striker and give us width. Cisse could play centrally BUT he would have to produce the goods and it is quite a risk. We can say what we like about Ba but he produces the good regularly. If he was to go I would hope we could play..

    ———–Cisse———–
    —–Remy—Benny——-
    ———-Cabaye———-
    ——-Tiote—-Anita——
    (more width from FB’s)

But I just can’t see Pardew playing people in their best positions. HBA’s best position is in the no.10 and Remy in the SS role and drift out wide. Cisse just needs to be left to sniff around the box and feed off those two (IF we get Remy) playing Cisse out wide is ridiculous.

      (Quote)

  32. Have to agree with you Kimtoon. It’s a sad state of affairs. To be fair Cisse hasn’t helped himself with some of his shocking shooting. If he had snatched 2 or 3 more goals he would be in a much stronger position to argue he should play in the middle but I have seen nothing to indicate he is coming into form. This must be agony for Pardew. He has to find a way to get points out of a side that looks completely lacking in confidence now. We desperately needed Ben Arfa out there yesterday. We could be in crisis in January the way things are going. It will take leadership to lift us out of this mess now.

      (Quote)

  33. DAVE you were reet y/day 😉 maybe nowt in it but remember cissie saying when asked if him and BA got on well off field being fellow countrymen, his reply was i hang and and go out with tiote,in other words he never answered the qes! or said owt about BA 😕

      (Quote)

  34. Kim @ 39 exactly Cisse looked lost yesterday when he was subbed but he still welcomed Strolla on with the touch of hands, I can remember twice last season Ba was subbed and blanked his replacement which for me is not on it’s ok to blank the manager because he’s the one your fuked of with, but not your team mates that to me is a no no, I have said all season that we don’t look anywhere near as close a team as last yr and I still believe that there is dressing room **** going on

      (Quote)

  35. BIG DAVE will try to find it when I get home, but I remember something like last summer it was 7.5 then after that it went to ‘market value’ it might of said. Then another paper said that the 7.5 was to champions league clubs or clubs who had qualified for europe the year before or such. It may have been the mirror, will try to find it when I’m home.

My point was that if people believe the papers when they say QPR offered him 80k a week (after Harry complained that Bosingwa was on 65k a week), then they should be ready to believe EVERYTHING that the papers print.

Me personally, I’ll just wait until Ba leaves instead of all this should we get rid of our top scorer over the last two years.

      (Quote)

  36. It’s pretty clear now we won’t be able to build and move forward with Cisse and Ba together. The best thing for the club would be to move one or the other on. If not for the clause, Ba being our top scorer by a country mile, and Cisse apparently completely out of form we could just sell Ba, make a fortune and Ashley could pocket most of the money. But the club is not in that position. Ba going will not bring Ashley a windfall, there is no guarantee Cisse will find form even if Ba leaves and there is no guarantee we will replace him properly. This is the price we pay for poor management. We are almost a headless chicken right now running all over the place but achieving very little. I think Ba will leave and we will bring in a replacement for him. We may even get some type of new defender. After that it is up to Pardew or he will be gone as well.

      (Quote)

  37. I do understand why some people are defending Ba. I suppose it just depends on how much faith you have in Cisse.

I look at Cisse’s record and in the past and I’m more than sure he will come good. Others seem to be judging him purely on what he did last season and think he was just a fluke.

Something else a lot of people are forgetting is that Ba was in the form Cisse is currently in for the second half of last season.

For me it’s simple. Move Cisse central and force Ba to play as a left forward. If a good offer comes in for him he will leave regardless of where we play him.

      (Quote)

  38. Looks like Liverpool are out of the question for Ba as Sky Sports have confirmed that Daniel Sturridge is having a medical at liverpool for 12m for the new window.. Also regarding cisse looking back at yesterdays game i thought he did quite well out on wing considering its not his favoured position also just think how many times he recieved the ball turned and was past the full back if he was doing the same things in his natural central role then these chance would have put him through on goal,, lets hope when bennys back we go to 4 3 3

      (Quote)

  39. My advice to Cisse would be to calm down, and when a chance comes make sure you get it on net. Try to play Ba in if you have to play out wide and continue to show you are a team player. That is all Cisse can do until this is sorted out. I would start Cisse in the middle in the FA cup game against Brighton and hope to give him confidence.

      (Quote)

  40. Also forgot to add if Ba or should i say his agents want 90k a week give it to him to sign a new deal get the clause out and then in the summer we can demand a crazy transfer fee im sure a few thousand extra from now until the summer and we can get much more than the 7.5m quoted in the clause simples lol

      (Quote)

  41. I still don’t see this as an either or situation for the club. On the field yes, but for the club no. We obviously cannot play 4-4-2 with both of them up front, and it’s clear that if either of them on the wings is the best we can do then we need better wingers. However with a front 3, with either Ba or Cisse in the centre with the other on the bench and with Shola as back up for the bench then it’s purely down to who’s in form plays. Other clubs manage this kind of situation why can’t we?

      (Quote)

  42. I’ve said before that if the club haven’t already then they should offer Ba the best contract they are prepared to – which for me would be on par with Colo. Allow that offer to stand until 1st Jan, and if he chooses not to sign it he either leaves in Jan OR stays but on his existing contract.
I understand people’s arguement that he’s a proven goal scorer, and I get that, but if the kid doesn’t want to sign there’s nowt we can do!.
However, if I were Pardew, I’d be preparing for life without Ba and that would mean dropping him for Cisse.
Pardew should be focused on getting him back on his game in the event of Ba leaving and Cisse being our main striker. He also needs to be getting the team around Cisse right and that means dropping Jonas and giving Marv a chance to prove himself.
The only thing I can think on that is that Pards doesn’t want Marv getting injured if he is part of the Remy deal.

Regarding other transfers, I know I’ve said it before but Puncheon was a real threat to Sunderland yesterday and if he’s only £2m he’d be a cracking buy.
Also, Chris Wood at Milwall looks a cracking young striker and reportedly available for around £1.5m – at 21 I think he’d be a brilliant buy and for a combine £3.5m is peanuts really for to very good attacking options.

      (Quote)

  43. I feel really sorry for Ba with all the stick he gets. We dont know what is really being said and done with contracts and what he really wants cash wise. Right now he is the top scorer at the club and right up there in the league right now. Nobody else is anywhere near close to him at Newcastle, but despite what he’s done up to now, so many seem to be against him. Lets just hope he stays and keeps on doing what he has been, we would be lost without him. Do think we should give him a better contract, he’s doing his job right now lets just make sure we keep him

  44. Oh that bad bad baaad Demba Ba. Poor Cisse cannot get a game and hit a barn door, and it’s all down to that beastly Demba.

Cisse plays with a smile on his face, and Demba plays with a frown on his face. That’s it for me then sell Demba Ba as quick as we can, so we can make way for that legendary top goalscorer Remy, who will cost us 3 million euros more than Demba, and we can watch Cisse being swatted by seasoned EPL defenders.

If he were to read this blog Demba Ba would know quite categorically that he is not wanted at the toon.

Not one blogger picks up on the fact that perhaps Demba deserves a pay rise, and parity with Collo. Nah, sell him cos he goes in a huff, whereas that Cisse normally plays with a smile on his face. 😯 😯

    Brilliant 😆
Ba is worth more than fiftyK, I didn’t say it because I thought that much was obvious. I can understand some of the venom directed his way, but some of the excuses made for Cisse or the bad things labelled on Ba are quite just hilarious really 😆

  49. Maybe Demba Ba doesn’t rate Cisse. Maybe that’s why they don’t get along ?

Demba looked as happy as owt celebrating Shola’s strike. He tries his heart out for the team, but he’s selfish and plays with a frown on his face… oh drat.

  50. Newkie@60.

We don’t really know what is going on behind the scenes.
We all know that Demba Ba has cracked a lot of goals in for the toon. He has proven his worth for the side imo.
Now he wants more money, as is his perogative. It’s also Ashley’s perogative to try and spend as little as possible.

Demba Ba will stay at the toon at the end of the transfer window, cos no-one will pay the wedge to lure him away. We will get our talented midfielders HBA and Cabaye back, and the team will end the season with a flourish. Cisse will finish the season with 6 league goals. Demba Ba will finish with 22. 😉 😆 😆

That’s me sticking my neck out 🙂 😆

  51. I’ve said before, I’m not surprised Ba doesn’t pass to Cisse at every opportunity (as some people seem to want him to?) because he’s probably pissed off and expecting Cisse to be offside, which half the time he is.

And if we’re talking about faces, Cisse’s glowing Smiles when he skies a penalty over the bloody Tyne don’t impress me much. They seem especially out of place given how he talks about how important his goals are and how each one can save a life in Senegal because of his charity. Not sure those kids have the same smile?

I hate these kind of conversations because they turn into a player vs player thing. I like them both and rate them both although I can see a level of twattishness about Ba I don’t think he’s Lucifer incarnate.

  52. Not 100% on cisse he seems average in the air and also very week on the ball. We could do with some one like Darren bent. I know he’s getting older and on the bench at villa but I reckon a cut price deal to newcastle could re kindle his goal scoring form and we all know he’s a class act when he’s getting the games. We need proven 1st team players who can fire the team up. Should if kept Nolan .

  54. MM ,Out of interest do you think it proper that a player blanks his manger when subbed ,bad mouths the club saying “I’m not happy about a lot of things” in a post match interview. Stands by while his brother and agents slag off the Toon and gives come and get me interviews without the proper consent ,oh and demands to be played in the position we brought Cisse for off the back of a terrible run of form ,cause he needs to score like 🙄 It’s not about the bottom lip or Cisse’s smile as you put it ,but yes a happy player now looks utterly fed up with his lot but sure your apparently o.k with that. End of the day we have a player apparently dividing the fans and I wouldn’t be surprised if the dressing room too. It’s not MOB rule mate ,just opinions ,that’s what this blog is for .Once again for the record I have always liked Ba but I am seeing and hearing a lot of stuff I don’t like wether it be him ,his bro or his agents that’s all. It’s also worth remembering no one was getting on Ba’s back and saying he was useless when he wasn’t scoring in fact I was one of those saying don’t worry he’ll come good. I would just like to see the same attitude afforded to Cisse that’s all. 😉

  55. Kimtoon. So what if Ba is a bit of a primadonna 😕 If you have heard any English language interviews with the bloke, he comes across as a seriously level headed bloke, who loves his football and his religion.

Maybe he is using the media to his advantage to get himself a pay rise because for sure he deserves one after what he has achieved for the toon in the last 2 years. Maybe the club are at fault by not offering him this wedge, as they did to Collo, and trying to take the **** out of him citing dodgy knees etc etc. The bloke’s not daft at the end of the day.

I’m not having this Ba battering, just cos laughing boy Cisse couldn’t hit a barn door and is being made a scapegoat for Cisse’s poor form.

Ba isn’t the first player to blank his manager. Maybe he blanks his manager cos he is frustrated that his team are not performing very well and that his manager didn’t strengthen the team as he and everyone else realises should have been done ?
If you mean the interview where Ba complained about hoof ball and not playing football beautifully, then I agree with him.

I don’t consider it mob rule mate, certain punters on here have ran a vendetta against Dema Ba for months now. I just tend to disagree with there opinion. Demba Ba has never shirked his responsibility and as far as I have seen always gives 100% for the club. He has scored some magnificent goals for the club. There again, he is greedy… 😳

Marveaux and Obertan, also both frenchies, also play with a face like a slapped ****. That’s the way the Francophiles are…

  56. Kimtoon, Cisse is paid a lot of money to get his **** together. He should just knuckle down and get on with it. Start putting the ball in the net, and the rest will take care of itself.

Pardew has shown more than enough loyalty in him in my opinion.

  57. Munich – I agree mate, I know we won’t sign these players but I think that’s what we’re missing. We’re that busy looking for ‘gems’ on the continent that were missing those under our noses. Players with experience of our league or English football. Those are just 2 in particular available at a low fee as they are in the positions where we need to strengthen, which could be done without spending a small fortune. Look at Michu at Swansea, £2m and he’s an outstanding buy.

As for Ba. He’s a CF in form so I’d expect him to be greedy to a degree. But anyone who watch MOTD last night, the highlights clearly show him creating chances for others. I’m sure it was Cisse he put through and laid it off for Santon to have a go as well. I accept that over 90mins he may have a go himself more than create, but he’s a CF for god sake. Also regarding his freekicks yesterday – they were poor – but who else was going to take them?. There was no other players who was technically better to take them!.
When there was – ie Marv, he took the freekick.
People shouldn’t be making this Ba v Cisse!. It’s Pardews choice who is selected and where they are played. If Ba is selected and playing up front, and taking the freekicks – all down to Pardew.
He kept dropping Benny last season for not being a team player, if he feels Ba is not being a team player I’d expect Ba to also be dropped. As he’s not I can only assume that Pardew does not see Ba as greedy or a non team player.

  58. MM what mob would that be ? I was never aware that I had a mob ? Or maybe it’s just that others have the same opinion and can think for themseves rather than being members of a mob 😕
