Granted our midweek win over Aston Villa has given us some breathing room away from the basement of the Premier League but there is till work to do before we can forget about the dreaded “r” word.
Three points today would be a nice surprise and getting them over one of the top teams in the league would be a welcome boost. Personally I always have these types of games down as bonus matches, where any points are a bonus whether we be at home or away. Maybe I’m being harsh on our team and their ability to compete with the so-called “big boys” but let’s be honest, they are up near the top of the league for a reason, in much the same way we’re near the bottom for a reason.
The game itself is not being broadcast here in the UK as it’s a Saturday 3pm kick-off and they only get shown around the world and not in the UK. That is unless you can get hold of a stream to watch the match. Not that I condone that sort of behaviour of course but I can’t stop you from posting links to decent streams that you may find on your travels around the web. Hint hint…
The match preview in online and can be viewed here if you haven’t already done so. It featured injury news for both sides and also a brief history of the fixture along with some fun facts and statistics to go along with the match.
Team news will be published below in full as and when it becomes available. Personally I don’t expect to see too much changed from the side that beat Aston Villa but then I guess you never know. You’ll have to wait to find out.
Which neatly brings this article to a close and now it’s over to our team to do the talking for us. As always comments on the match as it progresses but please bear in mind younger also read us before you go off on a rant.

KIMTOON(Quote)
Santon should have shot there, dont try and give it to Cisse to beat chelseas defenders in the air
Newkie(Quote)
Ball just isn’t falling for us. We’ve been great today. But the luck has been slightly with Chelsea. That’s the difference today so far.
I am getting worried that Pardew isn’t looking to make ANY changes with Chelsea so in charge now.
JJ(Quote)
Anita on for Perch
Marv on for Gouffran
Obertan on for Sissoko
Come on pards make the call
andymag(Quote)
Everton get a goal 3.2 to Villa now and wigan and saints drawing

Pardew’s inability to think outside his one trick pony tactic is proving costly.

Excellent link play by Cisse again.

KIMTOON(Quote)
this game has gone. we wont pull back. who is next up for us?
craig chisholm(Quote)
Nice combination started by Jonas. 😉
matias(Quote)
We are back in it, but Pard’s needs to adjust his tactics. We need some energy in midfield. Perhaps Anita for Cabaye whose energy is fading.
JJ(Quote)
I said 2.2 😉
KIMTOON(Quote)
Pity Pardew didn’t bring Sissoko off, eh?
Everton clawing their way back, too.
Wellington(Quote)
Mata is a superb player.
So is Sissoko 😆
JJ(Quote)
Give me some of what Sissoko is running on 😯
Newkie(Quote)
oh Sissoko well done
Big Dave(Quote)
This Sissoko his drive and energy WOW! what a signing.
Michael12(Quote)
By christ that Sissoko is like mustard ,how quick is he 😯
KIMTOON(Quote)
Newkie @ 255 the problem is I think he will run out of what he’s on. he can’t keep this up
Big Dave(Quote)
our own yaya toure 🙂
ron(Quote)
Carroll scored 😯
andymag(Quote)
That’s more like the jonas of this season 😆
Newkie(Quote)
even Jonas is lasting better than usual 😕 maybe the competition is doing him the world of good
Big Dave(Quote)
Saylor is playing way too deep.. not working with collo, just doing his own thing…. it may cost us..
Aussie Magpie Fan(Quote)
Come on lads! Not watching but sounds like they jave put a shift in. That’s half the battle.
Shamrock(Quote)
aussie don’t always listen to the commentators 😆
We just need to keep our wits about us
Big Dave(Quote)
Thank goodness Perch is slow. He would have been off…
Definately Anita for Perch for me.
JJ(Quote)
How did Oscar not get a card for that 👿
Big Dave(Quote)
webb is a *****, should have been able to play on there, joke
Newkie(Quote)
Reading get what looks like a late winner V Scum
KIMTOON(Quote)

Sissoko, great skills but he should have finished that man 😕
Newkie(Quote)
Just a little luck. Cooomon!!!

Sissoko played well there again
Big Dave(Quote)
Webb being quite lenient today.
JJ(Quote)
Andy ,agree Mbiwa time
KIMTOON(Quote)
Like this change. Would also like Anita on though.
JJ(Quote)
Great second half for sissoko… got himself right into the game..
Aussie Magpie Fan(Quote)
Santon needs to be careful pulling a player in the box
Big Dave(Quote)
Marv for Gouffran
KIMTOON(Quote)
Cmon Marv!
MDS(Quote)
Bah, Cisse 😕
Newkie(Quote)
Newkie@273 – tricky angle. He was on target even if it was a bit tame.
Wellington(Quote)
Cisse 😆 😆
Big Dave(Quote)
Aye I saw that dave
MDS(Quote)
Ai, great chance. Cahill would have got the block had it been on target. But should be doing better.
JJ(Quote)
Thought Sissoko would be good but not this good, how did no one find him sooner. Carr really is the best scout in Europe.
andymag(Quote)
Didn’t need to hear the commentator BD, ya can feckin see it a mile off 🙂
Aussie Magpie Fan(Quote)
Shame, his hold up and link up play has been superb but still not confident in front of goal. A bit too desperate.
JJ(Quote)
saints drawing again now
KIMTOON(Quote)
Perch 😯
Big Dave(Quote)
I’d consider Obertan on now for Cisse.
JJ(Quote)
BBC commentator says the club shop has sold out of berets 😆
