Game On! Hull v Newcastle

Game On at the KC Stadium
Game On at the KC Stadium
Good afternoon all and welcome to this ‘Game On’ article which will cover our trip to Hull today.

A last minute win against Aston Villa last time out stopped the rot for United but only time will tell if that victory was a rare bright spot in what has been a poor 2014 or whether we have genuniely turned the corner.

The big team news ahead of the match for Newcastle is that Fabricio Coloccini will miss the game on compassionate grounds after travelling back to Argentina following a family bereavement. For the rest of the early team news check out the match preview and for full team news check the bottom of this article just after 2pm.

The match is not being broadcast live here in the UK due to the regulation kick-off of 3pm although a few overseas broadcasters are showing the game so if you do happen to come across a reliable stream then please leave a link to it in the ‘comments’ section below.

We’ve not beaten Hull since 1998 and they’ve been playing some decent stuff of late although they have struggled in front of their own fans. Although not safe just yet it surely won’t be lomg before Hull can plan for another season in the Premier League. Our job today at least is to make them wait a little longer!

Howay the lads!

  1. Definitely started by Meyler there.
Pardew was never one to keep his emotions in check on the touchline though 😆

  2. Has Pardew just head butted Meyler?

Oh dear. Not clear cut but he’s in the **** now

  3. I thought Meyler ran into Pards on purpose there & Pardew reacted like a “tough guy”.

  4. Daft from Pardew. We’re pissing this and he does something to fire Hull up again. Imbecile.

  5. Two poor teams, and a poor referee.

But our manager ….well thank you very much….. what a spasmoid…

  6. I think it’s funny personally, though rather silly. I could care less what the press talk about so long as we get 3 points

  7. Pardew has two Hully Gully minders on him now, so that no-one thinks about yossering him… 👿 The knacker… 🙄

  8. there is just no place for that kind of thuggery in any walk of life.
Imbecile is too nice a word for him
5 match ban coming up I reckon

  9. Luuk De Jong has done very good today he is exactly what a target man should be. I cant remember him losing the ball once today. His control is top notch like.

Anita is my motm today though. He showed what he is all about today

  10. Tbh I’m not too annoyed with Pards.
Players lose their rags on the pitch and no one bats an eyelid. Why should managers be any different ❓
They are under far more strain than the players – magnified in Pardew’s case!!

  11. Not sure Solano – he has to set an example. Having said that, this makes it look like our season is still about challenging for 6th or 7th, which just about everyone on here has said would make them take their hats off to Pardew…

  12. Hull spent millions on Long and Jellavic… it just goes to show what you can get for your money …

I agree – he should be setting an example, in the same way that captains should.
Not condoning -I can just understand why things like that happen in football.
I doubt either Pardew or Meyler care, it’s handbags, nothing more.

  14. Although Meyler is a Mackem, and didn’t have to run straight into Pardew either. Id have probably stuck the nut on him aswell

  15. Both keepers trying for the howler of the match award

BB i think we are keeping the subs as time wasters

  16. Sissoko going to be fuming with Remy there. That was a great chance for a hattrick!

  17. lovely jovely that confirms it for me Anita motm it was between him and Tiote who were both amazing today

  18. I think that’s it, Toonsy, the mackem ran into Pardew, who horribly overreacted, but it’s a ban. Next few days expect The Expresss to call for him to be sacked. Also expect Jabba to pay no heed.

  19. Well done Paul Dummet lad, in the box there for the fourth goal, his shot caused the tap in for Anita.

    Well done the lads !!!!!!!!

Canny day out for the toon army 🙂

  20. Gallowgate
Yeah he deserves a ban and should apologise. Will that see the matter rightly dropped? Nah… Expect hysteria in the paper.

  21. Happy happy happy 😀 Was NOT expecting that result, only sour sweet in the bag was our dumbarse manager , what was he thinking 😳

      (Quote)

  22. Good performance great result ,their really is life after Cabaye , Pardew has a lot of explaining to do though. 😀

      (Quote)

  23. His no doubt extensive touch line ban will be the ready made excuse if we go on a dismal run now 🙄

      (Quote)

  24. What a great result but unfortunately it will be overshadowed by Pardew’s actions. Very wrong (although he’s a Mackem) but I hope he’s not totally and utterly vilified and thrown to the dogs. Think he will be though… 😥

  25. Changing my mind a bit about de Jong. Had a good game, lovely control. 4-1. Might have a little drink tonight 😀

  26. Watching these highlights, though, they had several really good chances and probably should have had a goal or two more, don’t you think?

    Pardew reaction
“You have to say that what Alan Pardew did looked nasty.”

      (Quote)

  28. Did it?!
    Stupid hysteria.
Pardew is daft and totally in the wrong but “nasty”?!

      (Quote)

  29. That shitbag Meyler did lay a hard shove on Pards to get the ball. Many of us would probably have reacted the same way.

  30. Well played the lads. As good a display of counter-attacking football as I’ve seen from Newcastle. Really well done.

Even a bit of counter-attacking from Pardew 😆

Great win. That might even put a smile on a few faces.

  31. Anita wouldn’t get a sniff without his minder Tiote. Give yer heeds a shake man … 🙄 🙄

Pardew …. the bloke is an embarassment… he’s slowly becoming a bloke that everyone would like to punch … 👿

  33. BB, Anita for me mate, but was impressed with Tiote, De Jong and Goofy too. Krul is an odd one ,managed to be both brilliant and cack in the same game 😉

  34. Thought De Jong played well, did some good link-up play. Anita and Tiote take the applause from me though.
