Paddy McNair
The Newcastle defence will see a lot of change next season following the departures of Fabricio Coloccini and Steven Taylor and the club is now being linked with a move for Manchester United defender Paddy McNair. The Northern Irishman went to the European Championships in France with his international teammates but has been told by new United boss Jose Mourinho to find a new club.
Sunderland are also rumoured to be interested in signing McNair with new manager David Moyes said to be looking at a number of targets at Old Trafford. McNair is thought to be keen to remain in the Premier League but Newcastle could undoubtedly offer the 21 year-old more first team football than their rivals. McNair is a young player with Premier League experience and would therefore be a very good signing for a Newcastle side eager to return to the top flight immediately. McNair has made 24 Premier League appearances since breaking through to the United first team in 2014.
