As reported by The Chronicle, Newcastle Star Christian Atsu feels that the clubs Serbian Striker Aleksandar Mitrovice contributes more than just goals, in the light of Newcastle’s 2-1 win over Cardiff.
Talking about his own goal, Atsu said “I am happy to score at St James’ Park and it was great to get it so early.
“I was very pleased to see Mitro pass the ball to me then.
“Some strikers would like to take that chance themselves, but he was unselfish and passed it to me.”
“I said thank you. Mitro is a good finisher and probably could have scored if he’d shot but he picked me out. I am grateful.” Atsu continued.
It is certainly good to see that Mitrovic’s teammates have such faith in him but is even better so see the continued emphasis on teamwork, something that has been missing at Newcastle for a very long time.
