Newcastle Told That £8m Would Pay For ‘Right Foot’ Of Their Target

As reported by the Chronicle, Derby winger Tom Ince has spoken about reports linking him to Newcastle United.

When asked, the tricky winger said: “I’ve never been someone who thinks about that or gets too involved in it.

“It’s obviously nice to see other teams show interest because it shows what you’re doing on the pitch is good.

“That’s good, not because other teams want to look at me but because I’m performing for my team, I’m performing for Derby County.”

However, Ince’s manager, Steve McClaren was quick to end any rumours, saying: “It’s newspapers stirring,” “He is staying, definitely.”

“Rumours are what sells. Fortunately we are in a good position where Tom is staying here.

“I heard that – £8m. That would probably pay for his right foot. It’s normal; we have to deal with it and cope with it. We will be creating plenty of speculation ourselves.

“It’s part of the game. It’s football, the window is open. Newspapers need to sell themselves.”
