According to reports from the Daily Mirror, Arsenal attacker Lucas Perez has decided against joining Newcastle United.
Newcastle United clearly need to improve their attacking lineup this summer and Arsenal striker Lucas Perez has been one name consistently linked with the Magpies in recent weeks.
Perez joined Arsenal from Deportivo La Coruna last summer for a fee of around £17million but the attacker failed to impress, simply because he was not handed enough opportunities on the pitch by manager Arsene Wenger.
As a result, Perez is a certainty to be leaving Arsenal and Newcastle United were said to have placed a loan bid for the 28-year-old.
However, the Daily Mirror have gone on to claim that Perez has snubbed the opportunity to join Newcastle and will be making a move back to Deportivo instead, on a yearlong loan with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season for £10million.
Perez is believed to have rejected Newcastle due to his desire to return back to Spain and now Magpies boss Rafael Benitez will have to focus on transfer targets elsewhere.
