Allan Saint-Maximin announced his return from a hamstring injury in brilliant but bizarre fashion last night – posting a video of him moonwalking to Michael Jackson’***** ‘Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough’.
The tweet drew a response from skipper Jamaal Lascelles, who also returned from injury in the 4-1 win over Rochdale last night.
The French winger has been sidelined since the middle of December and has been a real miss for us as we have only managed to pick up 1 win in the league since his absence.
Steve Bruce hinted on Monday that Saint-Maximin could soon make his return, informing the press that the 22-year-old was back in training – but cited that he will ‘err on the side of caution’ and not rush the player back into the team.
This makes a return against Chelsea this weekend unlikely but he could be fit for the fixture at home to Oxford United in the FA Cup the following weekend.
Saint-Maximin has been a breath of fresh air since his arrival from Nice in the summer and has regularly interacted with our fans on social media – just look at his latest post in response to this NUFC fan this morning!
