Journalist reveals ‘last gap bid’ Bruce will make AFTER Danny Rose signs – ‘Two in at NUFC?’

According to the Mirror’s Simon Bird, Newcastle will make a ‘last gasp bid’ to sign Olivier Giroud before tomorrow’s transfer deadline.

The North-East reporter confirms that Danny Rose has now landed on Tyneside for a medical, but believes TWO could sign before 11pm tomorrow, with Bruce ready to make one last push for Giroud.

The Frenchman was confirmed to be a target of Bruce’s earlier this month, however our slim hopes of bringing him in looked all but over when Inter Milan looked set to sign him last week.

That said, his proposed move to the San Siro has now collapsed – and Bird claims we’ll now make him an offer, with Chelsea willing to let him leave on loan for £3m.

Steve Bruce will make a last gasp bid to land Olivier Giroud as he completed a loan deal for Danny Rose.

Attention is turning to offensive reinforcements after Rose landed on Tyneside for a medical.

Bruce wanted Giroud earlier in the transfer window but thought he’d lost out when Inter Milan moved in with a two and a half year deal.

But that fell through and a £3m loan fee must be paid to land the experienced Chelsea striker.

It would surely be a loan at best if we pulled it off, but late deals for Rose and Giroud could round of a VERY productive transfer window on Tyneside.

Giroud is getting on and is anything but a Mike Ashley signing, but with Joelinton needing help up top and Carroll, Gayle and Muto all struggling with their fitness, his arrival could be a timely one.

  1. We have to stop dealing in over aged injured and seccond rate players.
