Huge boost for NUFC as Bruce shares big injury update on Dubravka & 7 other players

According to The Mail’s Craig Hope, Steve Bruce has today indicated that Martin Dubravka could be back in ‘around four weeks’.

The Slovakian recently revealed his fear that an ankle injury would keep him out for at LEAST two months, however Bruce’s latest comments suggest he could be back much sooner, handing us a massive boost as we enter the new season.

This comes from a press conference held at the club’s Benton training base earlier today, with North-East reporter Craig Hope also reporting that Jonjo Shelvey and Matt Ritchie are ‘okay’ after recent knocks kept them out of our final pre-season friendly vs Stoke last weekend:

It’s also positive to hear that new boys Callum Wilson and Jamal Lewis are ‘ready to go’, although it seems Ryan Fraser may take a little longer after not kicking a ball in competitive action for almost six months now.

Elsewhere, Saturday will also come too soon for Paul Dummett and Ciaran Clark, but news that Dubravka could be back next month is a HUGE boost.

Three exciting new signings through the door this week and our player of the season for 2019/20 set to return much earlier than expected? Happy days!
