£70m duo keen to join NUFC as club plan ‘at least’ two signings before Watford clash – Report

The Telegraph have revealed that top centre-back targets Sven Botman and Diego Carlos are BOTH keen to seal moves to St James’ Park.

It was revealed over the weekend that we’d submitted a fresh bid for Botman – the Dutchman Lille seem determined to keep – while a move for Carlos was said to be ‘gathering pace’ as of Friday night.

Luke Edwards’ latest piece states that bids for both ‘remain active’, although it’s not known – as of Sunday night – what progress has been made over the past 48 hours for the £70m-rated duo.

It seems one thing is clear, however; Lille and Sevilla are trying their best to get as much money as possible from our super-rich owners.

The report also states that club Chairman Yasir Al-rumayyan made it clear after our humiliating 1-0 defeat to Cambridge that he wants ‘decisive action’ to be taken on the recruitment front over the coming week.

As a result, it’s thought the club are pushing hard to bring in ‘at least’ one striker and a centre-back before Saturday’s must-win clash with Watford, with us targeting TWO centre-forwards to arrive after confirmation Callum Wilson will be out for eight weeks.

This comes after The Telegraph confirmed we have approached Burnley over a surprise move for Chris Wood, while Liverpool’s Divock Origi and Eddie Nketiah have also been identified as striker targets.

  1. Whoever is signed this week, we might as well discount getting anything from the Watford game, when considering the appalling performance and tactics yesterday. Indeed, forget about a win against Leeds. Owners need to focus on shipping out most of the players in the summer to prepare for the Championship next season.

It’s human nature that the present incumbents know their time is up and they will be disembarking from the gravy train. Therefore, their efforts on the pitch will be more negative than the past seasons under cabbage. Shame as if they put an effort in, they may be able to hoodwink another club to sign them.

  2. Looking at Aston Villa – take note – getting the right MANAGER saves you having to pay through the nose for QUALITY player’s…

..plus they don’t just play players because they are friends from past club’s

Good Manager’s have respect that players believe in and see a vision of better – NUFC is turning into a rehab for old Bournemouth and Dross player’s
