Private jet pulls up on Tyneside as Alexander Isak arrives alongside Dan Ashworth – Sky Sports

Alexander Isak has touched down on Tyneside ahead of his club record move to Newcastle United.

As revealed by Sky Sports’ Keith Downie, the Swedish international has landed in the North-East after being flown in on a private jet – where he was joined by sporting director Dan Ashworth and head of recruitment Steve Nickson; who were both in Spain yesterday to finalise a deal with Real Sociedad.

The player is set to undergo his medical this afternoon and complete the formalities of a record-breaking £58m move, becoming the most expensive signing in the club’s history.

Personal terms are not agreed as of yet, but the Sky Sports reporter insists that they are not expected to be a problem, suggesting everything is one track for the 6ft 4′ striker to sign in good time for Sunday’s trip to Wolves.

Here’s what Keith Downie has had to say in a lunchtime update on Thursday afternoon:

  1. The mind boggles at how much Shearer would have went for in this market. There’s not a striker around at the moment that could lace shearer’s boots in his prime
