Italian media claim NUFC will launch £26m bid for summer target struggling to settle in Serie A

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Newcastle are preparing to bid £26m for struggling AC Milan talent Charles De Ketelaere despite only joining from Club Brugge in the summer.

Both Newcastle and Leeds had been linked with the highly-rated Belgian before he was picked up by the Italian giants for £28m.

However, now De Ketelaere has started just eight of their opening 15 games into the season, it’s reported that the 21-year-old is struggling to settle in Italy.

With just one assist and not a single goal to his name, there are rumours that the talented youngster could be seeking a move elsewhere – and reports in Italy claim Newcastle are showing serious interest in their former target.

That said, with the attacking midfielder under contract until 2027 and AC Milan willing to persist with their young signing, it is likely that any Newcastle bid will be rejected in the next window.
