TalkSPORT: Newcastle eyeing West Ham forward admired by Eddie Howe

According to TalkSPORT, Newcastle United are eyeing up a summer bid for West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen.

In his latest transfer notebook piece, Alex Crook claims that Eddie Howe is a ‘long-term admirer’ of the forward who looks set to leave the London Stadium if the club suffer relegation to the second tier.

The 26-year-old almost signed at St James’ Park three years ago, but Mike Ashley refused to pay the £18m asking price, seeing the former Hull City star head to the Hammers instead.

Since then, he’s bagged 37 goals and 27 assists in 143 appearances for the Irons, managing 10 in all competitions so far this season.

He got the better of Dan Burn last night and almost bagged an assist in the opening minute before we went on to win 5-1.

Should they survive, West Ham will be hugely reluctant to sell Bowen this summer, as two high-profile exits is likely to annoy fans; who fully expect Declan Rice to finally land a big move.

However, if they go down and are forced to sell several key players, it’s easy to see why we’d be waiting in the wings for a Premier League proven wide man with 45 goal involvements in his last two seasons.
