Newcastle release pre-match video in final plea to Toon fans – Don’t forget your scarf!

Newcastle United have echoed Wor Flags’ message to supporters attending today’s game, reminding fans to bring their scarf.

Wor Flags ran a similar pre-match appeal before cup games against Southampton and Leicester, which helped create an incredible atmosphere and sea of black and white around all four corners of St James’ Park.

The noise inside the stadium was spine-tingling when Newcastle last took on Arsenal last May – a game which ended in a convincing win for Eddie Howe’s Mags. 12 months on, another three points would send the club one step closer to a top-four finish and Champions League football.

Here’s the video Newcastle United have released ahead of today’s huge game, urging fans to bring their scarf:

Wor Flags’ statement earlier this week:

This Sunday we are asking everyone attending our game against Arsenal to #BringYourScarf

Your response to #BringYourScarf for our cup games against Leicester and Southampton was absolutely incredible. It made our home a sight to behold and the atmosphere we generated undoubtedly helped the team to reach the final.

It will take a similar push from us all to create an atmosphere which helps the team in our final push for European places.

The atmosphere in St James’ against Arsenal last season was one of the best in recent memory and showed the difference we can make in the stands.  It was that way because of everyone playing their part.

This Sunday we’re asking you to play your part again and #BringYourScarf. Let’s make our home a sea of black and white and get behind the lads.

Howay United!’
