According to 90min, Newcastle have launched an enquiry over Southampton attacker Carlos Alcaraz, with Croatian left-back Borna Sosa also back on our radar.
The report states that we’ve been in contact with the Saints over the 20-year-old Argentinian, who only joined from Racing Club back in January.
It’s thought he’ll cost in the region of £25m after catching the eye over the second half of the season, where he bagged four goals and two assists across just 12 starts.
As for Sosa, 25, the Stuttgart star has been watched ‘on a number of occasions’ by Newcastle scouts this season, where he’s managed. He was linked last year and tracked by Toon officials at the World Cup in Qatar.
Since then, he’s been a shining light in an otherwise tough season for Stuttgart, weighing in with two goals and 12 assists from left-back. The 6ft 1′ defender is represented by the same agency as Nick Pope and Elliot Anderson and is expected to leave this summer, so could be one to watch.
