Newcastle ‘confident’ of agreeing part-exchange deal with clubs currently £10m apart – Report

The Chronicle have issued an update on Newcastle’s pursuit of Tino Livramento after it emerged last night that we were in talks to land the Saints full-back.

They report that we are confident of sealing a deal for the 20-year-old talent, despite the two clubs being ‘around £10m apart’ in their respective valuations of the England U21 international.

The same piece adds that Ryan Fraser is ‘expected to go in the opposite direction’, suggesting the Scottish winger will be used in any deal that sees the former Chelsea youth product arrive on Tyneside.

As we revealed in our exclusive on Livramento earlier this month, he shares the same agency with Newcastle boss Eddie Howe and was approached by the club a few weeks ago.

Since then, The Telegraph have confirmed our interest in the versatile right-back, with their latest report suggesting we are in talks over a £15m deal.

The Saints are thought to want closer to £30m, but a recent ACL injury that kept him out for the majority of the 2022/23 season coupled with their relegation to the Championship could strengthen our hands in negotiations.
