Arsenal talent contacted by Newcastle over summer move to St James’ Park – Report

Newcastle United are showing interest in Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson.

In his latest ‘exclusive’ for Football Transfers, Arsenal correspondent Steve Kay reveals that Newcastle have enquired about the player’s availability and made contact with his representatives.

The 23-year-old is out of contract at the Emirates this summer, but the report reveals that the Gunners have offered the England U21 international a new deal.

As of today, he is technically a free agent, ending his six-year stint with the North London side. However, he could yet agree to a new deal, giving Arsenal the chance to recoup a transfer fee for the attacker at the very least.

Kay adds that Newcastle are in the market for a versatile winger who can bolster our options ahead of the new season, with Eddie Howe particularly keen on those with Premier League experience.

Nelson bagged three goals and two assists in 11 league appearances over the 2022/23 season, scoring a last-gasp stunner in their 3-2 win over Bournemouth back in March.

  1. Reiss Nelson has already agreed and signed terms with Arsenal for £100 k per week. He is also an Arsenal fan. Newcastle will now have to buy him from Arsenal for north of £60 million. They have more chance of getting Tierney for £35 million, if Arsenal are willing to accept this low figure. I think Arsenal may keep them both as they are quality players.

  2. Newcastle are leaving it too late in the transfer market. Need to move quickly, before the best players are sold elsewhere.
