According to The Telegraph, Southampton defender Tino Livramento is ‘very keen’ to seal a summer move to Newcastle United.
The same report states that we’ve launched a £21m bid for the England U21 star – an offer that remains on the table – but talks are in danger of collapsing as the recently relegated side are demanding in excess of £30m.
The full-back has been linked with a possible move to Tyneside over the past week now with a potential player exchange for Ryan Fraser even suggested as part of the deal.
However, it looks as though we will have to up our offer by around £10m if we are to get the Saints to agree – something we are reluctant to do at this stage of negotiations.
With the incredible potential that the 20-year-old has shown during his first season on the South Coast, hopefully we can soon come to a compromise and secure a very talented backup to Kieran Trippier.
