According to Sky Sports, Leeds and Bournemouth are battling it out for the signature of Karl Darlow.
They report that neither have lodged an ‘official bid’ as of yet, but are both in talks with Toon chiefs over a permanent move, with one of the two ‘likely’ to sign the 32-year-old.
Middlesbrough have shown interest in the goalkeeper but it’s thought they can not compete with the wages on offer from Bournemouth and Leeds.
Darlow has two years left on his deal at St James’ Park and spent the second half of last season on loan with Hull. He’s due back on Tyneside for pre-season training but could well leave for good if a deal can be agreed with the Cherries or recently relegated Leeds.
A permanent move away could make sense for all parties, as Darlow is well down the pecking order following Nick Pope’s arrival and likely to be third choice should Martin Dubravka remain at the club.
