England talent given tour of St James’ Park as Toon offer deal to teenage midfielder – Report

England youth international Divine Mukasa has been given a tour of St James’ Park and the club’s academy base after leaving West Ham, according to NewcastleWorld

The midfielder starred for the Hammers’ Under-15s and Under-16s before going on to play a number of games for the Under-18s last season, who won a league and cup double.

Mukasa scored the goal that won West Ham the title against Arsenal, leaving Irons supporters disappointed to see him released by the club this summer.

It’s believed Rangers are also competing to sign the Young Lions talent, who must decide on his next move after visiting St James’ Park and the SPL giants over the past week. Man City have previously been credited with an interest in the teenager, making his release at West Ham all the more surprising.

Dan Ashworth is clearly working hard to bolster our academy, with Newcastle have also been linked with Irish youngsters Kevin Zefi and Romeo Akachukwu this week.
