The teams are in ahead of Newcastle’s first pre-season friendly of the summer, seeing Eddie Howe’s Mags take on Gateshead in today’s 12.30pm kick off.

As expected, many of our international stars don’t start – or feature in the matchday squad – after training for the first time yesterday, while Nick Pope (hand surgery), Joe Willock (hamstring) and Emil Krafth (ACL) are not yet 100% fit.
After today’s trip to Gateshead, we face Rangers at Ibrox next Tuesday, then travel to the US for Summer Series games against Brighton, Chelsea and Aston Villa before ending with a St James’ Park double-header against Fiorentina and Villarreal.
