Watch Jacob Murphy’s stunning strike as Newcastle lead Villarreal in Sela Cup decider – Video

It’s half-time in Newcastle’s Sela Cup decider against Villarreal, where a Jacob Murphy thunderbolt has given us a 1-0 lead at the break.

Just five minutes into today’s 4pm kick-off at St James’ Park, the winger smashed in from the edge of the box, firing past Pepe Reina at the Leazes end.

It’s been a positive half so far, seeing Harvey Barnes impress on the left and three Mags go into the book in a feisty affair against the La Liga side.

Watch Murphy’s brilliant strike below:

STARTING XI: Pope – Murphy, Lascelles (c), Dummett, Burn – Longstaff, Bruno, Joelinton – Ritchie, Wilson, Barnes.

SUBS: Gillespie, De Bolle, Carlyon, Savage, J.Miley, Diallo, Turner-Cooke, Hackett, Ndiweni, Huntley, Parkinson, McArthur.

With Nice losing to Fiorentina in today’s early kick-off, we’ll lift the Sela Cup should we avoid defeat against Villarreal So far, so good! Let’s hope for another strong display in the second half.
