Amanda Staveley, Mehrdad Ghodoussi and Jamie Reuben speak to Sky Sports from SJP – Video

You may have missed it yesterday, but Amanda Staveley, Mehrdad Ghodoussi and Jamie Reuben spoke to Sky Sports before our 5-1 win over Aston Villa.

Speaking to Sky’s David Craig from St James’ Park, Staveley started by praising our summer business so far, feeling we’ve recruited three “fantastic players” in Sandro Tonali, Harvey Barnes and Tino Livramento.

She admitted that “FFP constraints” have made it a tough summer and forced us to be “very savvy”, but is “looking forward” to having a “deeper squad” over the next few months.

Ghodoussi added that we’ll “continue to work hard”, remain conscious of the challenges ahead and will not get complacent, but is “super excited” to see what this season has in store.

Reuben is “very excited” for our return to the Champions League, feeling the ‘fans, players and city’ all deserve what’s to come, urging everyone at the club to “enjoy to ride.” Watch the interview below:

Amanda Staveley – “I’m delighted. We’ve had a busy transfer window. We do have Financial Fair Play constraints so we had to be very, very savvy on bringing right players in but we’ve welcomed three fantastic players in.

“They’ve joined us and this will be their first Premier League game and we’re excited to give them proper St James’ Park welcome. Welcoming new players part of business plan but we will be looking forward to having a slightly deeper squad in the next few months.”

Mehrdad Ghodoussi – “All of us are super delighted. Obviously, it was a tremendous season last season. We’re excited but also very conscious of the difficulty of the new season. We’re not going to be complacent. We’ll continue to work hard and try to continue our success.”

Jamie Reuben – “What a season ahead. These players deserve it, these fans deserve and this city deserves it. First time back in the Champions League for around 20 years so we’re right up for it.

“Obviously it brings a lot of high-quality additional games so we’ve got to give a good account of ourselves, see where we get to and enjoy the ride.”

  1. Don’t know why they would speak to Sky.
All Sky do is look for a negative angle, and a way to apply their gesture politics.
