Club launches double bid for Newcastle duo Jeff Hendrick and Isaac Hayden – Report

Sheffield Wednesday have launched official loan bids for Newcastle United duo Jeff Hendrick and Isaac Hayden, according to the Sheffield Star.

They report that the Owls are looking to bring both to Hillsborough following their awful start to the Championship season, where they’ve lost all four league games, leaving them bottom of the table.

It’s believed that talks are underway but no deal has been agreed as of yet. Leeds, West Brom and Aberdeen were linked with a move for Hendrick yesterday, while Isaac Hayden saw his proposed move to Luton Town fall through earlier this week.

One issue could be their wage demands, as they both earn around £50,000 per-week at present. It may come down to what percentage of their current salaries Sheffield Wednesday are prepared to pay.

Either way, both are out of Eddie Howe’s first-team plans and will hopefully be moved on before tomorrow’s 11pm deadline; whether that’s on a permanent or temporary basis.
