Brilliant Eddie Howe press conference after 3-0 win v Man U – So many positives & one ‘huge blow’

Eddie Howe has praised his team for a ‘massive performance’ against Man United and a ‘great response’ to an early hamstring injury to Matt Targett, which he described as ‘bizarre’ and a ‘huge blow.’ 

Targett went down early in the game afte r going in for a tackle and was subsequently forced off, with Howe left perplexed as to how it happened.

However, the boss hailed his side for their response to the injury and added that he ‘couldn’t praise them enough’ for recording our biggest victory at Old Trafford for 93 years, running through several success stories on the night.

Howe was particularly impressed with Emil Krafth – who made his return after 15 months out – and Paul Dummett who were both very ‘committed’ at the back. 

Newcastle have added an extra fixture to our already packed schedule, but despite injuries and suspensions, Howe has claimed that the team are ‘looking forward’ to it. Watch the press conference in full below:
