According to Craig Hope at The Mail, Joe Willock, Harvey Barnes and Elliot Anderson will join Callum Wilson in missing upcoming games against Sunderland and Manchester City.
The North-East reporter has been told there’s ’little chance’ that any of those return before our trip to Aston Villa on Tuesday 30th January, with a much-needed mini-break set to follow our league clash with Man City a week on Saturday.
On the plus side, Hope adds that Kieran Trippier still has a chance of making the Tyne and Wear derby, although the club are awaiting news on the groin issue that kept him out of Monday’s 4-2 defeat at Liverpool.
Jamaal Lascelles is also fit again and could start against the Black Cats after his cameo appearance at Anfield, but the likes of Jacob Murphy, Nick Pope, Matt Targett and Javier Manquillo remain sidelined.
We’ll hear more from Eddie Howe on Friday, but it sounds like Trippier is the only Mag who could return for Saturday’s early kick-off at the Stadium of Light.
⛑️ Sounds like NUFC can add Joe Willock, Harvey Barnes & Elliot Anderson to those, now including Callum Wilson, who will miss both Sunderland & Man City. I’m told trio have little chance of returning until after January mini-break. Kieran Trippier could return Saturday but more…
