Arsenal reject loan approaches from Newcastle, Aston Villa and West Ham – Report

According to The Mail, Newcastle are one of three Premier League clubs who’ve seen an approach rejected by Arsenal for Emile Smith-Rowe.

The report states that Mikel Arteta is keen to keep the attacking midfielder with the Gunners, prompting the club to turn down loan enquiries from Newcastle, West Ham and Aston Villa.

The England international has made just seven appearances in the Premier League this season, but it’s believed Smith Rowe wants to stay at his boyhood club and fight for his place in the starting line-up.

A loan move away from the Emirates stadium could’ve made sense given he has been in the starting line-up just twice in all competitions this season. But the former England U21 star is keen to remain in North London, even stating that he “won’t give up until Arsenal say they don’t want me.”

It is unknown whether Newcastle will make another offer for the 23-year-old before the end of the transfer window. He strikes me as a classic Eddie Howe player and could be one to watch this summer if he doesn’t break into Arteta’s plans soon.
