Four Premier League clubs eyeing Callum Wilson deal as Newcastle name price – Reports

According to The Evening Standard, Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea have all been alerted by Callum Wilson’s availability.

Nizaar Kinsella reveals that all three clubs are keen to sign a proven Premier League goalscorer in the final week of the January transfer and are considering moves for the 31-year-old.

He adds that Wilson has been made available for a fee in the region of £18m, with FFP/PSR issues forcing Newcastle to sell this month if we wish to make a big-money signing of our own. Elsewhere, Graeme Bailey at HITC claims that West Ham are also ‘interested in striking a deal’ for a man they tried to sign during his time at Bournemouth.

With 86 goals in 215 Premier League appearances and 25 league goals in his last season and a half at St James’ Park, it’s easy to see why a short-term deal could appeal to three of our ‘big six’ rivals.

However, some will argue that it would be unwise to strengthen a competitor, especially when the likes of Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea have been reluctant to do business with us in recent times. As for West Ham, would it be wise to help out a side currently six points clear of us in the table?

The Standard report that Kieran Trippier’s proposed move to Bayern broke down as the German giants refused to pay our £20m asking price, while Wilson was wary of joining Atletico Madrid in fear of being nothing more than a back-up option to Alvaro Morata.

  1. 18m for a England international you’re having a laugh try doubling it 😂
I would also do no business with Arsenal or Man Utd 2 clubs that constantly try and block our progress.
If I were pif I wouldn’t bail them out (add Spurs and Liverpool to that) by paying stupid money for their has-beens to play in Saudi either.

  2. Willock was a risk at the time and a lot of money, it suited Arsenal at the time now we are potentially a threat the drawbridge has come down.
He also wasn’t particularly great in his first season a la Bruce.

18m for a player who is out injured most of the time.

You mean like take the same amount Liverpool got for sick note Firmino who is 2years older.
Why are you so keen to be rid of our players on the cheap first Tripps now Wilson, when you’re the seller you set the price Wilson is worth at least 25 in today’s market

I should have said first full season, he was unbelievably good on his loan stint. But after he signed he couldn’t buy a goal.
If a prospective buyer doesn’t do their due diligence properly they would buy the likes of Firmino and St Max for that matter and not look how often they would play in real terms.
