Howe responds to two transfer rumours in Monday morning update – Watch here

Eddie Howe has been speaking to the press in the last few moments, taking inevitable questions on our January transfer plans and two links that have emerged this morning.

The boss states that reports suggesting we’ve made an ‘approach’ for Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey are “incorrect”, also stating that talk of Matt Targett joining Celtic on loan are also “incorrect” and “way off.”

When asked for a general update on where we stand on incomings and outgoing, Howe added: “Nothing has changed… it’s copy and paste from before the Fulham game. I have no fresh news to give you. We’re still waiting to see what will happen.

“We are waiting to see what happens. I don’t want to talk about individual player names (on outgoings). I don’t think that’s right.

“It’s a complex situation. . I don’t think anything is clear cut. All eventualities could happen. Nothing is clearcut and all eventualities could happen. What we probably won’t do is bring a player in without losing one the other way. That would be impossible, but all other options could still happen.

The last few lines are telling and confirms what we suspected. It seems any signing over the final few days of the window will be dependant on a sale, putting all eyes on the likes of Miguel Almiron, Callum Wilson and Jamaal Lascelles.
