Newcastle eyeing summer move for out-of-contract Arsenal winger – Report

According to The Evening Standard, Newcastle have shown interest in signing Arsenal teenager Amario Cozier-Duberry who has very recently been compared to Bukayo Saka.

The winger has developed into an exciting talent with the Gunners, but with his contract set to expire in the summer his future is still up in the air, leaving Newcastle, Ajax an Borussia Dortmund waiting in the wings

Newcastle are looking to build a young core for the future and have already added top talents like Yankuba Minteh and Alfie Harrison to their ranks in the last 12 months.

Cozier-Duberry played a key role in helping Arsenal get to the FA Youth Cup final last season where they ultimately lost to West Ham. The pacey youngster primarily plays on the right side of the attack and has a knack for cutting inside on his left to shoot.

Speaking to The Athletic about Cozier-Duberry, U18 boss Jack Wilshere said: “Amario is very exciting and Mikel likes him. He reminds me of Bukayo Saka, plays in the same position as him, needs to get better with his decision-making like Bukayo did, but he’s definitely exciting.

“In some moments he’s unplayable. You give him the ball and he can make things happen. You can set up a team and have a game plan, but when you’ve got individuals like that you’ve got a chance.”
