“He’s in a dangerous place” – Eddie Howe quizzed on looming two-game ban

Speaking to the press on Friday morning, Eddie Howe was asked about the looming ban facing Bruno Guimaraes.

With nine yellow cards in 22 Premier League appearances this season, the Brazilian is one booking away from a two-game ban. If he’s caution at Nottingham Forest today, he’ll be miss upcoming games against Bournemouth and Arsenal.

Howe does not want the 26-year-old to lose that emotion in his game, but feels he must keep that under control, accepting he’s “in a dangerous place.” The 10-yellow rule is wiped after the 32nd game of the season, meaning Bruno avoid a booking in our next nine games to escape a two-match ban.

“He has to play that way. He has to be emotional, committed to produce his best performance. He’ll be frustrated with some of the bookings he has picked up this year. It’s part of the learning process”, Howe said.

“Yes he’s in a dangerous place and we don’t want to lose him. Hopefully he can keep his emotion under control and we can get through this period.”

Anthony Gordon is also just two yellow cards away from a ban after picking up eight so far this season, with only Bruno and Fulham’s Joao Palhinha picking up more than the winger.
