Breaking News: Toon in talks with Papiss Demba Cisse

In talks with Newcastle?
Newcastle are said to be in talks with Freiburg striker Papiss Demba Cisse according to Sky Sports News.

We were linked with the Senegal striker back in the summer and the striker even went on record to acknowledge our interest although unfortunately nothing come of it and Cisse remained at Freiburg.

So imagine my shock when I got in from work and turned Sky on to see this little chestnut rolling along the little yellow ‘breaking news’ ticker. I nearly spat my coffee out! However, with seconds seconds I was back in my defensive ‘wait and see’ mode, so that’s just what I’ll do.

Cisse has an outstanding goal record in the Bundesliga having scored 37 goals in 65 appearances which has alerted some of the bigger clubs in Europe. He is mates with Demba Ba and is also an international team-mate of his so perhaps our current goal machine has had a word in the ear of another goal machine?

    Believe me, this bloke is immense. A great finisher, with a great work ethic, always on the move…. Cannot wait to see them all in action 😆 😆

    He’s a jack in the box striker, always on the move. Doesn’t score many long range shots though, mainly a sniffer in and around the box. Good for at least 10 goals a season though for sure. Happy days …

    Aye Dave I hope so, “if” we get a striker in Jan I’d still prefer Cisse even if he is playing in the ACN, much prefer him over Maigi :mrgreen:

Lets face it we now have 2 goal scoring Forwards who will be playing with each other over the next month or so for their country .   56. Toonpipes I will admit I was wrong because I didn’t think that Jabba the c@nt would pay more than £6 mil on a player. But if you don’t mind I will reserve final judgement till the end of the window, to see if we get a defender in that we need and hopefully we won’t be losing any of our big players to pay for Cisse . 😉

    I don’t think any of the big names will go, just pointing out that while the windows open owt can happen and I’d prefer to enjoy the signing rather than trying to point score……….except where JJ is concerned, he’s fair game 😆
