Match highlights of our opening day win over Tottenham for you all to enjoy now, including a rather cheeky back pass from Steven Taylor to Tim Krul!
As I’m sure you’ll have read and indeed seen, it was hardly a vintage match from our perspective but we have three points to show for it which is the aim of the game I suppose. We scored more goals than they did. Canny difficult this football lark isn’t it?
Joking aside, the win reminded of how we started off last season in truth. Solid yet not spectacular but we still managed to grind out results. To do that with a bunch of players who have hardly played in pre-season isn’t bad at all in my mind and means that it can only get better once they all get up to speed.

We have a couple of dangerous gaps in the squad. But our rivals have glaring gaps in the first team.
Tottenham fans must be extremely worried. They’ve lost Adebayor/Saha/Kranjcar/Pienaar/King/Corluka/Nelson
So far they’ve brought in just Vertonghen and Sigurdsson.
Think Sigurdsson is a terrific player, but if he is going to be playing instead of RdV then it definitely wasn’t a crucial signing.
They need two strikers urgently.

Highlight of Saturdays game for me, was the fact that we have enough players capable of those magic, game changing moments that we can carve out wins out of nothing.
Can’t really remember a single decent chance we created.
So long as our defence remain solid we only need even one of our magicians to conjour something and we get a goal.
When they all click in a game we are a truly awesome team. Stoke at home last season was one of the stand out performances imo, oozed class that game.

Only got to see Anita for a brief time, but I really enjoyed his movement and he seems to have a bit more mobility than our other midfielders. Certainly offers something different.
Tiote the rock, Cabaye the workhorse and set piece taker, and Anita the legs and space creator… Seems a great mix to me.

I also have to say, I was impressed with Simpson. He is key in defence. Just wish he can work on his attacking play and composure in possession.

Sat was a tight game and typical of an opening day fixture, I wouldnt read too much into either way. There was positives to take away from the game , namly the 3 points! Am I the only one worrying that Ba and Cisse are finding it hard to play together in a 442? Or am I just over reacting?
Also , was Eric Pieters really at the match? Maybe we have made another bid for him

As for plugging your laptop into your TV, it all depends what input/output ports you have on your laptop/TV. If you have HDMI on both it’s relatively easy I think, but I don’t have that.

Thanks Rodz. I think it might all just be too much of a hassle for me to be bothered with. I’ve looked at the tv manual and it looks easy enough, but so does Ikea furniture and I always have trouble with that.
