Gamez Can Still Play A Part This Season – But What Will He Offer?

Newcastle United fans have not seen much of Jesus Gamez yet but as the season goes on he may well become a key figure of the Magpies, just what can Newcastle fans expect from their fullback.

Despite arriving on Tyneside to reports of a big reputation, Gamez has never cost a great deal with his move from Malaga to Atletico Madrid in 2014 only costing 2.5million euros.

Gamez could be considered a relatively competitive player, racking up 66 bookings in his career to date. Although it seems as he has gotten older, he has also gotten wiser, as in the past two seasons, he has only been booked a combined six times.

Gamez clearly also possesses quality, having played in the Uefa Champions League on three separate occasions, twice with Atletico Madrid and once with Malaga.

Due to the high standard of the UEFA Champions League, Gamez’s cards tally was five in only fourteen games.

Gamez however, must have impressed in his fourteen appearances, as he was never substituted in the competition.

It seems that, judging by his statistics, Newcastle fans can look forward to a solid defender when Gamez is fit.
