As reported by the Chronicle, Jamaal Lascelles has spoken out about his partnership with Ciaran Clark.
Before the season started, many felt that Clark would be nothing more than a back up to Lascelles and Chancel Mbemba, but since his arrival, Clark has been nothing short of a revelation.
He has been arguably Newcastle’s player of the season and when asked about him, Lascelles said the following: “I think we work well off each other. Ciaran’s played in the game a long time and reads the game really well.
“He’s very vocal and helps me out a lot talking and organising from the back. Me and him are so loud for the team. I think it’s so important.
“Then we’ve got Vurnon who can defend down one end and set up a goal down the other. Throughout the team, we’ve got a great balance.”
However, Lascelles does not feel that the teams talents end there, adding: “The thing is, we’ve got players on the bench who can play as well,”
“Whatever decision the manager goes for is obviously the right decision.
“The boys are doing well.”
