Armando Broja’s stance on Newcastle move amid interest from West Ham, Everton & Southampton

Now a move for Hugo Ekitike has gone silent, it looks increasingly like Armando Broja is the man Eddie Howe has turned to in our bid to sign a young striker.

What Chelsea plan to do with him remains unclear, however Mark Douglas’ latest piece for iNews has offered an insight into the player’s feelings following links to Newcastle United.

He reports that Broja is ‘open’ to the idea of arriving at St James’ Park this summer, suggesting we may be able to get this deal done if Thomas Tuchel does allow the 20-year-old to leave.

Douglas claims that we’ve approached Chelsea over his availability, but expect to face competition from West Ham and Everton, with Southampton also linked with another move after his impressive loan spell at St Mary’s last season.

Interestingly, iNews report that Eddie Howe wants to bring in young talents who can grow with the club, preferring this to bringing in star names who have already reached their ‘peak.’

Broja fits that bill, being a 6ft 3′, mobile and technically gifted forward who has the potential to be a very dangerous striker at Premier League level.

  1. Not a chance. He wants to stay in London, and is open to coming to the London Stadium. Stop trying to nick WH-bound players, you’re becoming embarrassing.

  2. Bish – ??? stop believing the media man. No every player is bound for WH – just like not ever player is bound for NUFC.

We aren’t sat waiting to see who WH go for next – we couldn’t give a f@ck.

Be hilarious if he came to SJP now though after your ‘he wants a London club claim’ – what part of London is Southampton again???

  3. Bish,
You do make me laugh. Newcastle have their own list and with Dan Ashworth in the chair, probably aren’t spending a lot of time following West Ham around. They were supposed to be throwing millions at everyone and haven’t at all. Their moves are shrewd and considered so far. West Ham had their chance to strengthen last January and blew the best chance they ever had of success. Can’t see them finishing about a very clever Newcastle side this season and it won’t be because they pinched West Ham’s targets lol

  4. Listen I respect WH and their recruitment since Moyes came in. It’s been well thought out and they’ve cleared out the mercenaries.

But if we go after Broja it’s not to p!ss WH off, it’s coz he fits what we need – simple as that.

  5. Eddie Howe had a life before Geordie Arabia .. he was always trying to hijack Hammer transfers with Bournemouth do some research..
You lot were **** against top sides last season .. now just wait until you face 2 banks of 5 against the lower teams … already thinking your a top 6 side
Such arrogant big mouthed supporters who even try to justify Saudia Arabian human right issues.

  6. Strange how many cockney’s travel to Newcastle for a good night out, whereas zero Geordies travel to the **** hole area called ‘West Ham’ for a good night out. Even your owners were ashamed and couldn’t wait to gtf out of the area into an athletics stadium. Clearly another delusional fool who’s never got past Watford Gap. So many other supporters – including your own – say the first fixture they look for is Newcastle away so they can plan for a great weekend. West Ham away isn’t a fixture anybody looks for.. Glass houses comes to mind.
