Newcastle United have taken over Alan Shearer’s Premier League Team of the Week following Saturday’s superb 4-0 win over Aston Villa.
Our former number nine has selected Kieran Trippier, Joelinton, Miguel Almiron and Callum Wilson in his XI, also picking Eddie Howe as his manager of the week.
Trippier played a key role at both ends, limiting Villa to zero shots on target and bagging an assist for Wilson’s second, while Joelinton capped off another all-action display with a well deserved goal.
Almiron rounded off the scoring with another stunning strike and won the penalty for Callum Wilson; who looked razor sharp up top, proving too much for Tyrone Mings and almost scoring a hat-trick as he played a part in each of our four goals.
As for Howe, he’s almost certain to be named Premier League manager of the month after another big performance, with Saturday making it FIVE wins and a draw in six games this month.
