Newcastle draw Leicester in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals – Full draw and details

Newcastle United have been drawn to face Leicester at home in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

Our clash with the Foxes will be played the week commencing 9th January 2023, in between our FA Cup trip to Sheffield Wednesday (7th January) and Premier League clash with Fulham (15th January).

Eddie Howe’s Mags won their last 16 tie on Tuesday night, beating Bournemouth 1-0 at St James’ Park thanks to a second half own goal from Adam Smith.

Now, should we beat Leicester, a two-legged semi-final will take place between late January and early February, with the final at Wembley scheduled for February 26th.

Here’s the last eight draw in full following Man City’s 3-2 win over Liverpool in the last 16:

  1. Man Utd vs Charlton
  2. Southampton vs Man City
  3. Nottingham vs Wolves
  4. Newcastle vs Leicester

Newcastle United’s route to the semi-finals:

  • Second round: Tranmere 1-2 Newcastle
  • Third round: Newcastle 0-0 Crystal Palace (3-2 on penalties)
  • Last 16: Newcastle 1-0 Bournemouth
  • Quarter final: Newcastle vs Leicester
