Toon willing to offer ‘€10-€15m’ for Spaniard before loaning him back to current club – Report

According to new reports emerging from Spain, Newcastle United are ‘serious’ about signing Real Valladolid right-back Iván Fresneda.

This comes from Radio Marca Valladolid – a station close to the player’s current club – who claim that we are ‘willing to pay’ between €10m and €15m to bring the highly-rated right-back to Tyneside.

The 18-year-old has played just six times in La Liga for Valladolid – four of those appearances in the starting 11 – but has clearly made a great impression after being called up to Spain’s Under-19s squad on multiple occasions.

Recent reports from Spain have labelled him as one of the most exciting young talents in Europe and at just 18 Fresneda would certainly fit our current transfer model of building for our long-term future.

It would appear that we are definitely in the market for a new young right-back, to play back-up to the now 32-year-old Kieran Trippier, after also being heavily linked with West Ham youngster Harrison Ashby.
