Player due for medical in next 24 hours as Newcastle have Gordon bid accepted – Sky Sports

Newcastle United have finally agreed a fee worth £45m for Everton winger Anthony Gordon, according to Sky Sports.

After reporting that the two clubs were ‘close’ to striking a deal this afternoon, it’s believed an agreement has been now reached, seeing Newcastle pay an initial £40m plus a further £5m in potential add-ons.

The England U21 international has therefore been given the green light to leave and is due on Tyneside to undergo a medical in the ‘next 24 hours.’

In a Twitter update just moments ago, Sky’s North-East reporter Keith Downie said: ‘Fee now agreed for Anthony Gordon to move to Newcastle. £45m total agreement. The forward is due on Tyneside for his medical in the next 24 hours.’

Personal terms are now being discussed, however it’s been previously reported that these will not be a problem, suggesting the 21-year-old’s arrival is now imminent.

Whatever you think of the fee or the player, let’s get behind him. After all, Eddie Howe and Dan Ashworth have barely put a foot wrong in the transfer market.
