As revealed by Fabrizio Romano, Everton have launched a £40m bid for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.
Newcastle have been heavily linked with the 22-year-old over the past two transfer windows, however, it seems the Toffees are now using the funds they’ve received for Anthony Gordon to sign the attacking midfielder.
Romano reports that the offer is £40m plus £5m in add-ons, stating that Chelsea will make a decision on the player’s future ‘soon’ – aware of the fact ‘other clubs’ are also interested in the former Crystal Palace loanee.
Earlier today, Sky Sports confirmed that we are still keen on the England international, but remain unsure if Stamford Bridge chiefs would allow him to leave for a top four rival.
It’s also been suggested that Gallagher is keen to fight for his place after a period of game time under Graham Potter, but this heft bid promises to test Chelsea’s resolve as they push to sign Argentine star Enzo Fernandez.
