Howe handed £140m dilemma as boss reveals pre-match boost ahead of Bournemouth trip

Eddie Howe has confirmed that Alexander Isak will be fine for Saturday’s trip to Bournemouth, giving the Toon boss some big decisions to make in attack.

Fans are debating who will start out wide between Allan Saint-Maximin and Anthony Gordon, while Isak’s return gives the boss another selection dilemma up top and £140m of talent to pick between.

The Swedish forward was missing against West Ham due to a concussion he suffered earlier in the week, while Saint-Maximin started the game ahead of Gordon; who impressed in a second half cameo.

Although ASM was named in the first 11 – his first Premier League start in five months – many were critical of his performance and the French winger was subbed off after 69 minutes according to the gambling site gry-hazardowe-za-darmo.com/automaty-online-na-pieniadze/.

Now, with Isak ‘fine’ for our fixture against the Cherries, Howe will be forced to choose between the three attackers to fill two positions – assuming he sticks with Miguel Almiron on the right.

Personally, I’m expecting Saint-Maximin to get another shot – Howe is known to ease new signings in, meaning Gordon may be made to wait – while Isak is unlikely to replace Wilson after our No 9 ended his goal drought last weekend.

It’s certainly a nice problem to have heading into Saturday’s game, giving us a few quality options off the bench and the sort of competition that should raise standards within the squad.

Here’s what Howe had to say on Isak:

“Unfortunately, we had to follow concussion protocols with him, so immediately after the (Southampton) game we knew we would be without him (vs West Ham).

“It was a big blow for us because he’s looked so good when he’s come on to the pitch in recent weeks.

“He feels good, he feels fine. I don’t think there’s any issues with him.

“I’m sure he’ll be fine for the weekend.”
