Newcastle linked with another England international – Man Utd, Liverpool & Arsenal also keen

According to 90min, Newcastle are ‘monitoring’ the situation of Chelsea and England star Mason Mount with contract talks between him and the club said to have stalled.

The midfielder has now entered the final 18 months of his contract at Stamford Bridge and it appears as though discussions over an extension aren’t going particularly smoothly.

Newcastle will be keeping tabs on how this develops in the coming months with Man City, Man United, Arsenal and Liverpool also believed to be showing an interest in the England international.

Mount has come under a fair bit of criticism from Chelsea fans so far this season with just five goal involvements in 21 appearances in the league, but he has previously shown really star quality.

If contract discussions continue to struggle, the 24-year-old could potentially be made available for a bargain price in the summer when he will have just one year left on his current deal.

This isn’t the only England international midfielder we’ve been tipped to sign, with James Maddison, Conor Gallagher and Jude Bellingham all linked with moves to St James’ Park.

Needless to say, however, a move for Mount may only be possible if we secured Champions League football?
