Ghodoussi responds to Wor Flags statement – A message for fans attending Arsenal game

Wor Flags have encouraged every fan attending Sunday’s clash with Arsenal to bring their scarf to St James’ Park.

A similar plea was put out to supporters ahead of cup games against Leicester and Southampton earlier in the year, creating a sea of black an white and superb pre-match atmosphere inside the stadium.

Co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi has already responded to the idea, saying “I’ll be bringing mine” in response to Wor Flags’ post on Twitter.

It promises to be another huge game, giving us the opportunity to move one step closer to Champions League football against Mikel Arteta’s out-of-form Gunners. Liverpool play twice between now and Sunday, facing Fulham on Wednesday and Brentford on Saturday, meaning they could move just three points behind us with back-to-back wins.

However, the top-four race remains well and truly in our hands, making Sunday’s clash with Arsenal all the more important. Let’s bring our scarfs, get right behind the lads and roar them on to another big win!

Wor Flags statement ahead of Sunday’s game at St James’ Park:

This Sunday we are asking everyone attending our game against Arsenal to #BringYourScarf

Your response to #BringYourScarf for our cup games against Leicester and Southampton was absolutely incredible. It made our home a sight to behold and the atmosphere we generated undoubtedly helped the team to reach the final.

It will take a similar push from us all to create an atmosphere which helps the team in our final push for European places.

The atmosphere in St James’ against Arsenal last season was one of the best in recent memory and showed the difference we can make in the stands.  It was that way because of everyone playing their part.

This Sunday we’re asking you to play your part again and #BringYourScarf. Let’s make our home a sea of black and white and get behind the lads.

Howay United!’
