First exit edging closer as Toon receive offers from Spain, England, Germany & France – Report

According to Spanish outlet AS, Javier Manquillo is edging closer to a summer move away from St James’ Park.

The report states that he’s already attracted early offers from unnamed clubs in Spain, France, Germany and England, with a return to his homeland his preferred option.

In what has been our most successful season in the past two decades, the Spaniard has been limited to just 34 minutes of Premier League football and is viewed as ‘one of the transferable players’ at the club.

The 29-year-old joined the Magpies back in 2017 and has gone on to make 110 appearances, rarely letting us down during the Rafa Benitez and Steve Bruce eras.

However, his time at in the North East looks to have come to an end. He’s got 12 months left on his contract and has slipped down the pecking order following the arrival of Kieran Trippier and improved performances of Emil Krafth; who will return from an ACL injury over pre-season.

A solid servant who has filled in well when needed, with his display in that big win at Leeds last season playing a key role in our emphatic turnaround under Eddie Howe.
