Sky Sports: Newcastle officials have travelled to see £60m midfielder TWICE in past two weeks

According to Sky Sports News, Newcastle United have sent scouts to watch RB Leipzig star Dominik Szoboszlai on TWO occasions over the past fortnight.

Earlier this month, Sky Germany revealed that we had club officials watching Leipzig’s 2-0 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen and it seems that wasn’t our only trip to see the highly-rated Hungarian in action.

James Maddison is thought to be a top target, but links with the 22-year-old aren’t going away. The fact scouts are watching him so closely just a few weeks before the summer window opens seems pretty telling.

He has three years left on his deal with the Bundesliga side and a £60m release clause in that contract. The attacking midfielder has notched nine goals and 13 assists this season and is known for his versatility, being able to operate as a number 10 or down either flank.

Speaking about his future at Leipzig and their upcoming cup final against Frankfurt next month, he said: “I’d like to play in the Champions League and would like to win my second trophy with Leipzig. We’ll see what happens after the summer.”
