Simon Jordan has made the prediction that Newcastle will have ‘somewhere between £150m-£250m to spend’ this summer following our Champions League qualification.
Although it has been played down by Eddie Howe, there are rumours that Newcastle are targeting multiple ‘elite’ signings to help them cope with a European tournament next season and push on to the next level.
The talkSPORT co-host also made the bold claim that Newcastle, in the not-too-distant future, will be the team to challenge Man City for the title because we have the ‘economic resources to do so’.
That still sounds like a complete fantasy to any Toon supporter right now and the expectations are certainly not that high, but it’s exciting to think where this club could end up with the right infrastructure in place.
For now, we look forward to a summer of transfer rumours and Champions League group predictions eagerly awaiting the return of football to St James’ Park.
