Newcastle contact Sevilla over summer move for 18-goal attacker – Report

According to The Mirror, Newcastle have ‘made contact’ with Sevilla over a possible move for Youssef En-Nesyri as we look to bolster our attack.

The Moroccan forward netted 18 times in 48 appearances across all competitions for the Spanish side last season as they finished 12th in La Liga and emerged victorious in the Europa League.

It is believed that the 26-year-old and his representatives have told Sevilla that they want them to listen to offers for him in the summer, suggesting a move away could be on the cards after three and a half years at the club.

Despite having two top strikers in Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak, Howe may be keen to add a third attacking option with Champions League just on the horizon.

Although a wide forward, left-back and right-sided centre-back appear to be our current priorities, could you see us making a move for En-Nesyri?

Personally, I don’t see us spending the sort of money he’d demand on a third striker. He profiles similarly to Isak as a tall, mobile striker who can do a bit of everything, but I expect any forward arriving this summer to be a young one who can learn from our current options.
